February Kit Class Cards

We had a fine group of ladies meet last Tuesday in the basement at Schmittys on Main to make 15 beautiful cards.  You might think that 15 cards is alot of cards to make but when I provide 5 designs and they made 3 of each design, the cards being made were humming right along.  This is a fun class of beautiful but yet simple cards that anyone that you choose to send to will love them!

Here are the beautiful cards that we made:

Card #1 - Special Birthday
 Stamp Sets:  Special Reason
Ink:  Rich Razzelberry, Sweet Sugarplum
Paper:  Sweet Sugarplum Base, Rich Razzelberry Layer, Falling in Love Designer Series Paper, Very Vanilla Scraps
Accessories:  Dimensions, Stylish Stems Framelits, Sweet Sugarplum Sponging

The Stylish Stems Framelits add the right vocal point for this card, a simple card just made into a spectaular card!

Card #2 - Celebrate You

Stamp Sets:  Balloon Adventures, Sunshine Sayings
Ink:  Memento Black, Pool Party, Peekaboo Peach
Paper:  Pool Party Base, Whisper White Layer, Pool Party, White & Peach Scraps
Accessories:  Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder, Balloon Punch, Candle Border Punch, Pool Party Sponging, Dimensions

I love the reverse Embossing Folder that is new in the Occasions Catalog, by using the folder first and then stamping on top reveals the words on the Whisper White Layer.  I am a fan of the Candle Border Punch.

Card #3 - Happy Birthday Gorgeous
 Stamp Sets:  Beautiful You
Ink:  Black, Flirty Flamingo
Paper:  Tip Top Taupe Base, Watermelon Wonder Layer, Whisper White, Serene Scenery Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Enamel Jewels, Doilies

This stamp set is very popular and is new in the Occasions Catalog, the possibilities are endless!

Card #4 - Be Still
Stamp Sets:  Special Reason, Delicate Details
Ink:  Dapper Denim, Cucumber Crush, Smokey Slate, Black
Paper:  Dapper Denim Base, Very Vanilla Layer
Accessories:  Wink of Stella

A simple card made so pretty by adding the Delicate Details stamp set to the top of the card.  I mounted 3 of the stamps to one block to achieve the perfect placement.

Card #5 - Wonderful Friend
Stamp Sets:  Dragonfly Dreams
Ink:  Black, Bermuda Bay
Paper:  Bermuda Bay Base, Black Layer, Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper, Whisper White Scraps
Accessories:  Watercolor Pencils, Aqua Painter, Dimensions, Bermuda Bay Sponging, Triple Punch, Dragonfly Framelits

Even if you are not a big fan of coloring, by adding just alittle coloring to the Inside the Lines Designer Paper, you add just the right amount of pop!

February 2017 Technique Class - Intricate Dies Made Easy & Beautiful

Using Intricate Dies can be challenging when it comes to adhering them to your card.  You don't want the glue to squish out the sides, because of all of the cuts you really can't use adhesive tape and you think to yourself:  There has to be an easier way!!

I just learnt an easy way to solve all of the above problems!!  Just cut out your shape; be it the Dragonfly from Dragonfly Dreams, the Beautiful Butterfly or the Detailed Florets to name a few.  Next take a sponge and the Silicone Craft Sheet that Stampin' Up! sells on page 182 of the Annual Catalog; if you don't have the Silicone sheet a piece of plastic will also works.  Put a little Tombow Glue on the piece of plastic and then sponge some of this glue to the back of the die cut.  The sponge keeps you from adding too much glue to the die cut.  Just adhere the shape to your card!  That easy!

Here are the cards from the February Technique Class:

Card #1 - Balloon Birthday

Ink:  Black, Watermelon Wonder

Card #3 - Hey Chick Slider Card

I love how this card turned out, it takes a little patience to put together but really is not that hard.
