Like these cards?  Would you like a step by step tutorial of the Watercolor Wash Technique?  Well here it is:

Technique – Watercolor Wash
Month: January, 2014

Step 1:  Add a drop of re-inker of each color that you want to use to your palette.
Step 2:  Add water to the re-inker, adding mo9re water depending on the type of wash that is desired.
Step 3:  Spray watercolor paper with a water misting bottle to dampen the paper. This will help the colors spread and blend. Regular cardstock can be used but with watercolor paper, it will absorb some of the liquid and give you that professional look, the paper will also not bubble up from the moisture.
Step 4:  Using an Aqua Painter, Blender Pen or even a regular paint brush, wet your brush.
Step 5:  Apply ink wash from one side of the watercolor paper to the other with a single stroke. You can also go back and forth, depending on what type of design that you want. You want it to look smooth, like you’re an actual painter!!
Step 6: Clean off your brush, using paper towel and dip brush in re-inker solution and add a second stroke underneath the first.  Making sure that the brush strokes overlap.
Step 7:  Repeat until the entire watercolor paper is covered. Let dry.  It won’t take long for the paper to dry, you will also notice that the colors will lighten.
Step 8:  Stamp your main image, you will notice that the “outline type” stamps will work really well for this technique.

Thanks for stopping by, in February the technique will be Plastic Wrap Smoosh!

Take care,
Cindy
