June Kit Class - All New!!

This week was our June Kit Class and everything was new!!  New ink, new stamps, new cardstock, new designer series paper; it was so exciting to be able to play with so much new things.  Stampin' Up! does a lot of research and the new colors this year are bright and bold, I just love them! The cards were loved and were so much fun to make.

If you wish you could join us, but life is too busy; these cards are available as a Kit and I would love to share them with you.  Just contact me, I will get them ready for you.

Card #1 - With Deepest Sympathy
Isn't this card stunning, the stained glass is part of the Stained Glass Vellum papers, all you do is color the backside of the vellum with markers. Paired with the new In Color Blueberry Bushel, it just pops.

Stamp Sets:  Painted Glass
Ink:  Memento Black, Blueberry Bushel, Assorted Markers
Paper:  Blueberry Bushel Base, Black Layer, Whisper White, Stained Glass Vellum

Card #2 - So Many Smiles

The new color Gorgeous Grape coordinates perfectly with the new color Highland Hunter.  Both of these colors are part of the new Core Colors.

Stamp Set:  Detailed with Love

Paper:  Highland Hunter Base, Gorgeous Grape Layer, Whisper White, Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Paper
Accessories:  Hexagon Embossing Folder, Stitched Oval Framelit, Dimensionals, Dotted Tulle Ribbon, Glitter Enamel Dot

Card #3 - Love What You Do
I received this card for a birthday card and just fell in love with it!!  So I had to copy and share it at class. By positioning the Lovely Floral Embossing Folder in the top corner, we were able to achieve this great look!

Stamp Set:  Love What You Do
Ink:  Rich Razzelberry, Old Olive
Paper:  Mint Macaron Base & Layer, Rich Razzelberry, Whisper White, Share What You Love Designer Series Paper

I heard this comment at class, "I thought that this card would be so difficult because it is so pretty" that was far from the case.  This easy card uses the new stamp set Healing Hugs which is a Dis-Ink-Tive stamp, and takes on a 3D look when you add ink like the new In Color Lovely Lipstick.

Stamps:  Healing Hugs
Ink:  Lovely Lipstick, Memento Black, Call Me Clover
Paper:  Gray Granite Base, Lovely Lipstick Layer, Whisper White
Accessories:  Triple Banner Punch, Mini Dimensionals, Pearl Dollies, Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain Ribbon, Wink of Stella in Clear.

June Technique Class - String Art Pull Technique

The technique for June was so much fun!!  One of those techniques that you do not know what kind of results you will have until the very end!  It goes by many different names and there are different ways to achieve the look, but in the end you end up with a beautiful abstract background.

Taking reinkers, place approximately 6 drops in a shallow cup, add 2 drops of water. I used my Aqua Painter and it worked the best for me.  Mix the ink into the water and then add a piece of twine, I used Stampin' Up! Cotton Twine, approximately 14 inches. Once the ink is mixed into the water, I saturated the twine with ink, leaving only about 3 inches that does not have ink on it. you will use this 3 inches to pull the twine.  Place the twine on a piece of Whisper White cardstock, place White cardstock inside a phone book, place a piece of scratch paper on top of White cardstock and then close phone book. Place one hand on top of phone book, keeping even pressure on phone book, with the other hand pull the twine out of the phone book. I have to caution you though, the first time that you pull the twine out, you will not want to keep that piece of White cardstock as the twine is very saturated the first time through. Take a second piece of Whisper White cardstock and do the above again, this time through will be perfect!

Every card will be different, it reminds me of a Calla Lilly.
