Facebook Live Replay - In Symmetry

Instructions:

• Attach the Whimsy & Wonder DSP to the folded card base.

• Using the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Layering Circles Dies, die cut out the Basic Gray layer with the scalloped circle die and the Basic White layer with the circle die.

• Using the Basic Gray ink and the Whimsical Trees Stamp Set, stamp the sentiment on the lower part of the Basic White Circle and then stamp the ornaments 3 times across the top.

• Using Blender Pens, add the Basic Gray, Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron inks to the stamped ornaments.

• Adhere the Basic White circle to the Basic Gray scalloped circle.

• Adhere the folded Metallic Mesh Ribbon to the back of the circle.

• Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere the circle layer to the card base.

• Enjoy!

December Technique Cards - Stampin' Blends & Rubbing Alcohol

 What a fun technique this was!!  I think everyone had a good time with this one.  The Stampin' Blends and Rubbing Alcohol Technique is a great way to create a very unique background (no two are ever the same) for your cards.  You begin by scribbling color from the paint brush end of your Stampin' Blends onto a piece of Vellum Cardstock.  Next brush on rubbing alcohol with your Paintbrush Painters (or Aqua Painters) over the top of the vellum.  Be sure to use rubbing alcohol that is as close to 100% as possible, 70% will just not drive, I used 91% and it worked perfectly.  You can brush horizontally, vertically or even just a little of both.  Once your vellum has dried, adhere it to a piece of Basic White card stock that will be used as a layer for your card.

Card #1 - Thank You

Before I adhered the vellum to the Basic White cardstock, I stamped some snowflakes onto the white, by stamping off and used Misty Moonlight ink. I love how the snowflakes showed through the vellum.

Again, after I applied the Rubbing Alcohol to my Stampin' Blends scribbles, I stamped the Flower Swirls and stamped in Polished Pink ink.

Cutting & Scoring:

• Soft Succulent – 11” x 5 ½” scored at 1 ¼”, 4”, and 6 ¾” and 2 ¾” x 2 ¾”, 2 ¼” x 2 ¼”, 1” x 10:

• Basic White –2 ½” x 5 ¼”

• Evening Evergreen – 2 ½” x 2 ½”

• Ever Eden Specialty DSP – 4” x 5 ¼”, 2 ½” x 5 ¼”, 1” x 5 ¼”

• Gold Foil Sheet -1 ½” x 4”

Instructions:

• Fold and burnish on each of the score lines of the Soft Succulent card base folding in opposite directions to create an accordion fold.

• Stamp the Dear Friend greeting near the top and center of the Basic White layer.

• Adhere the larger piece of DSP on the largest section of the card base.

• Adhere the Basic White stamped layer in the section right next to the largest section.

• Adhere the 2^nd largest piece of DSP to the section next to the Basic White.

• Adhere the smallest piece of DSP to the last section of the card base.

• Wrap the long thin piece of Soft Succulent cardstock around the card to make a belly band and adhere the ends in the front of the card using Tear and Tape Adhesive.

• Die cut the scalloped circle from the larger Soft Succulent square.

• Die cut a circle from the Evening Evergreen square and a smaller circle from the smaller Soft Succulent square.

• Die cut the long label with leaves at each end from the Gold Foil sheet.

• Stamp the floral image in the center of the Soft Succulent circle using VersaMark Ink and then stamp the greeting along the bottom of the circle in Evening Evergreen ink.

• Adhere the Soft Succulent circle to the Evening Evergreen circle and then adhere this to the Soft Succulent scalloped circle using liquid glue.

• Adhere the Gold Foil long label die to the center of the belly band using liquid glue.

• Adhere the scalloped circle to the center of the Gold Foil layer using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

• Using Wink of Stella, brush over the top of the floral image that was stamped in VersaMark.

• Add three of the Garden Gems to the center of the stamped floral image.

• Enjoy!

Stampin' Up! Weekly Tip - 2 Step Stamping

 

Two-Step Stamping

To make all these lovely Christmas cards we used the two-step stamping technique—that involves stamping certain images in layers over each other. This technique is so simple, but it adds beautiful depth and texture to any card.

The Magic in the Air card is small and would look adorable on a Christmas gift. To make this card, use Evening Evergreen ink to stamp the entire base with the tiny berries stamp from the Christmas Season Stamp Set in the July–December 2021 Mini Catalogue. Then, use the two-step stamp technique to make the leaves: simply stamp the base image first in Just Jade ink, then stamp the top layer in Evening Evergreen ink. Finally, add berries below the leaf and use the Christmas to Remember Stamp Set to add a sentiment, which you can then adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Joyeux Noël card is so easy to make that you could get all your Christmas cards done in one sitting! Start with the pinecones by stamping the base layer in Crumb Cake and the top layer in Soft Suede. Next, stamp the long greenery pieces in between the two pinecones and then stamp your sentiment.

To make the Een kleurrijke kerst card, use the stamping-off technique to stamp the base of the holly leaves. Next, use the same color ink to stamp the layered image over the leaves. Finally, add some berries and a leaf, then stamp a sentiment in the center of the card.  I think friendships are so very important and this stamp set really fit that bill.  I really love this set and the great assortment of verses and greetings.  It was the perfect stamp set to feature for my Monday night Facebook Live.  Here is a closeup of the card that I made.

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

• STAMPS – Merriest Moments (156353)

• PAPER –Thick Basic White Cardstock (159276), Real Red Cardstock (102482), Pattern Party DSP (155426), Basic White (159276)

• INK – Real Red (102482)

• OTHER – Paper Trimmer (152392), Bone folder (102300), Paper Snips (103579), Layering Circles (151770), Stampin Cut Emboss Machine (149653), Wonderful Snowflakes (156340), Stampin Dimensionals (104430), Stampin Seal Plus (149699), White Glittered Organdy Ribbon (156408), Mini Glue dots (103683)

Cutting & Scoring:

• Basic White Thick Cardstock 5 1/2” x 8 ½” scored at 4 ¼” Fold with Bone folder to crease.

• Black and White Dot DSP 5 ¼”x 4” cut 2

• Real Red Cardstock 5 1/4"x 2”

• Black and White Plaid 5 ¼” x 1 ¾”

• Die cut a small scallop Real Red circle and a small basic white circle to nest inside the scalloped red.

Instructions:

• Stamp you Joy on the Basic White die cut circle.

• Using Stampin Seal or adhesive of choice adhere the stamped Joy circle to the cut scalloped Real Red Circle.

• Adhere the Black and White mini dot DSP to the card front using Stampin Seal or adhesive of choice.

• Layer the Plaid DSP to the cut Real Red Strip with Stampin Seal.

• Next wrap the ribbon around the Real Red/plaid strip. Knot to the right and cut ends.

• Adhere a Snowflake to the card front with a mini glue dot.

• Take Stampin Dimensionals and place on back of Scalloped Circle and then place in center of Snowflake.

• Attach your other cut Black and white dot DSP to the inside of the card then stamp your greeting of choice in Real Red ink on the 5” x 3 ¾”.

• This is a fun card to add the Black and White Plaid to the envelope flap using Stampin Seal Plus. Rather then trim around the envelope flap cut ends straight to sides of envelope.

• Enjoy!
