Spotlight Stamper - Bernie Seidl

 My Spotlight Stamper is our own Bernie Seidl, who as you may know, loves to make cards. She made these Valentine cards a while ago but that just shows how organized she is.  This year is a great year to make and give Valentines. With everything that is going on, I know that I am glad that I made Valentine cards also.

Make CASEing Work for You

Famous painters look at each other’s work for ideas, and so can papercrafters! If you’re feeling stuck and need something to fan your creative spark, go online and check Pinterest or the Demonstrator Planning Place. Or look through the catalog and put a check mark next to every card you love and want to CASE (Copy and Share Everything). Copy the layout, the color scheme, or the technique‑or do a combination of all three.

Our concept artist CASEd the To a Wonderful Man card by drawing inspiration from the layout, color combo, and technique to create her hummingbird cards. Aren’t they beautiful? To duplicate her technique CASE, simply use a die cut to create a frame using the main stamped image, then pop it up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. If she can do it, so can you!

Facebook Live Replay - Lots of Heart

 I bet a lot of people thought that the stamp set Lots of Heart is all about Valentines and while you can use this set to design your Valentine cards, it is meant to be used for more than just Valentines. There is a Thank You, Thinking of You and Just a Note. This set comes with eleven stamps, 3 of which are Hearts of different sizes.

Here is a close up of the card that I made Monday Night.

Cutting & Scoring:

• Real Red 8-1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”; 1-1/2” x 1-1/2”

• Brass Foil 4-1/4” x 5-1/2”

• Very Vanilla 2-1/2” x 4-1/2”

• Pearlescent Specialty Paper 3-5/16” x 4-13/16”

Instructions:

• Burnish the folded edge of the card base with the Bone Folder.

• Stamp the cherry blossoms on Very Vanilla cardstock and the sentiment on Real Red cardstock with Versamark. Add the gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set with the Heat Tool.

• Using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, use the smallest circle to cut the sentiment and the floral die to cut the Cherry Blossoms. Also cut the Ornate Frame from the Brass Foil.

• Using the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, emboss the large piece of Pearlescent Specialty Paper with the Scripty 3-D Embossing Folder.

• Using Multipurpose glue, layer the embossed Specialty Paper onto the Brass frame and add it to your card base. Add the flowers with Stampin’ Dimensionals as shown and finish by adding your circle sentiment with Multipurpose Glue so that it tucks under the flowers.

• Cut 18” of the gold ribbon and tie into a double bow. Adhere this to the base of the flowers with a Mini Glue Dot.

• Option for the inside - Add a 4” x 5-1/4” piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and stamp a sentiment in Real Red Ink. Using scraps of Very Vanilla, stamp, emboss and die cut a flower and two leaves to adhere next to the sentiment.

• Enjoy!

Retro Circles Continued

 Last month our stamping technique I called Retro Circles, being so easy, it was easy to make more cards using this technique. It is also a great way to use up those "little" pieces of Designer Series Paper that you just can't throw away.

Here are three more cards that I made using the Retro Circles technique, I hope that they give you some inspiration also.

February Kit Cards & Class to Go! Cards

 When it is so cold, one place that you will find me is in my stamping room. Lately has been exception except I have been known to take a nap or two lately.

Here are the cards that you have to choose from for the Kit Class for February, we meet in Neillsville in the banquet hall of Schmittys.  Now if you are from out of town, we also have the Class to Go! class, you will use the same cards that we have for the Kit Class only you can work on the cards at your leisure. I supply you everything that you need, all of the card bases, layers, white pieces for the inside, embellishments and can die cut and emboss where needed.  All you need are basic stamps, ink and adhesive.

So sit back and enjoy this month's cards and let me know your choices.
