Weekly Stampin' Up! Tips - Pick Your Pieces

 

 

 

Pick Your Pieces

What different creations can you come up with using a few of the same base supplies? We know you’re up for the challenge, but here are three examples using the Plentiful Plants Stamp Set.

In addition to the stamp set, these three cards all used Basic White, Petal Pink, So Saffron, and Soft Sea Foam Cardstock; Calypso Coral, Mango Melody, and Shaded Spruce Classic Stampin’ Pads; and a bit of Linen Thread.

On the Merci bien card, we stamped on the Basic White Cardstock before cutting the piece at a diagonal. Then we layered the So Saffron and Soft Sea Foam pieces behind and stamped the sentiment on the Petal Pink Cardstock (which we repeated on the other two cards as well).

For the Veel geluk samen card, we die cut the macramé plant holder from So Saffron Cardstock and stamped the plant image on Soft Sea Foam Cardstock. Next, we stamped the plant image on Soft Sea Foam with Shaded Spruce ink and die cut before assembling.

And finally, the Du hast mir sehr geholfen card has the Basic White Cardstock piece cut into three strips. We stamped different pots on So Saffron Cardstock in Calypso Coral and Mango Melody ink and die cut them. Then we stamped the plant image in Shaded Spruce ink on Soft Sea Foam Cardstock and die cut that as well.

There are so many wonderful creations you can make using just those supplies. Give it a try and share your cards on social media.

Wednesday Wow - Rest & Relax

 Rest & Relax Card

Stampin’ Up! Supplies:

• STAMPS – Timeless Tropical (151497)

• PAPER – Basic White (159276), Basic Black (121045), Smoky Slate (131202), Rainbow Glimmer Paper (153056)

• INK – Smoky Slate (147113), Memento Tuxedo Black (132708)

• OTHER –Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Seal Adhesive (152813), Banners Pick a Punch (153608), Paper Trimmer (152392). Simply Elegant Trim (155766)

Cutting & Scoring:

• Smoky Slate – 4 ¼” x 11” (score at 5 ½” and fold in half)

• Basic Black – scrap

• Basic White – 4” x 5 ¼” and a scrap

• Rainbow Glimmer Paper – 5 ¼” x ¾”

Instructions:

• Ink the large flower stamp from the Timeless Tropical stamp set in Smoky Slate ink and stamp it on the panel of Basic White cardstock in a random pattern as shown.

• Using Stampin’ Seal, adhere strip of Rainbow Glimmer Paper to the far left of the stamped panel of Basic White Cardstock.

• Adhere the piece of Basic White cardstock to the Smoky Slate card base using Stampin’ Seal.

• Ink the sentiment from the Timeless Tropical stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamp on a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Punch the scrap with the Banners Pick a Punch to create a flagged end.

• Use the Banners Pick a Punch to create a flagged end on the scrap of Basic Black cardstock. Use Stampin’ Seal to adhere the sentiment strip to the larger piece of Basic Black as shown in the photo. Set aside.

• Use a 12” length of Simply Elegant trim and wrap around your fingers several times to create loops. Tack down to the stamped panel of Basic White cardstock using Stampin’ Seal.

• Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhere sentiment strip over the looped Simply Elegant Trim.

• Enjoy!

Let's Have Some Z Fold Fun!

 While Cindy is on vacation, let's have some fun.  Card below is called a Double Z Fold, I have listed the dimensions and directions below.  Make a card and then email me a photo of it at budy98@yahoo.com. I would love to see alot of cards sent to me, so roll up your sleeves and let's see what you can come with.  But don't put it off, she comes back on July 13.

Here is a picture that you can follow, I received this card from Rita Jakobi for my birthday and got the inspiration here.  We also made this fold in September, 2020.

Dimensions: Base = 4 ¼ x 5 ½ and 4x11 for back, scored at 2” and 3 ¾” each end. Layer 3 ¾” square, White (Cut 2) 3 ½ x 3 ½ plus a piece of scrap for punched saying piece. Designer Series Paper (2 pcs) ¾ x 4”

Directions:

• Taking one of the white pieces, stam your image, this is the front piece. Adhere to the 3 3/4" Layer

• Fold on the score lines, making a Z fold on each end.

• Adhere this piece to the left hand flap.

• Create a Greeting piece using Dies or Punches.

• Adhere the Greeting piece to the front of the card using Dimensions. Adhere the Sequins also.

• Adhere the 2^nd white piece to the inside for the inside verse.

• Adhere the card base to the card back, adhere the DSP strips on either side of the card on the card back.

Really not that hard at all, let's see what you an come up with.  You might be wondering what you could win, well the winner will receive the new Embossing Folder called Bark 3D Embossing Folder that can be found on page 154.
