February Technique Cards

I just wrapped up the February Technique Classes, the cards were well liked and I have to tell you; receiving those comments just warms my heart!!

If you missed the February Technique Class for whatever reason, remember these classes are also available as a kit and I will be more than happy to send them to you.  The 2 technique class and 1 special project card are available to you for only $10, plus postage.  Just let me know and I will get you all set up!!

If you live in the Neillsville, Greenwood or Granton area; here is even better news!!  The Technique Class is available as a Private Class.  Based on Stampin' Up! workshops  but even better as we learn a technique, make the cards and have a great time!  Now is a great time to host a Private Class in the location of your choice, you get the Hostess Awards and the added Sale a Bration benefits!!  In fact, the February class would be perfect for a Private Class.  You can also have a Book Event, I supply you with the catalogs, order forms and special thank you's to give to your guests; this is a great opportunity for the working and busy crafter.

Ok, enough about that, let me show you the February Technique Cards!!

                Spotlight Technique
This technique is great to spotlight part of your image. It's a fun way to use detailed stamps and only color part of of the image. This is easy to achieve by using punches.

Here is our first class using the Spotlight Technique:

Card 1 – Sheltering Tree Spotlight
Stamp Sets:  Sheltering Tree, Greatest Greetings
Ink:  Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi
Paper:  Rose Red Base, Rose Red Base, Elegant Eggplant Layer, Very Vanilla 3 ¾ x 5 & 2 x 4 ¾
Accessories:  Gold cord, tape, mouse pad as the stamps used are photopolymer, and just stamp better if you place your card stock on top of a mouse pad and stamp.

Hints:  Stamp the Sheltering tree first on the larger Very Vanilla piece, then place that piece above your smaller piece of Very Vanilla and by lining them up, you can stamp the tree again, it will come very close and you just adhere the Vanilla trip to the Rose Red layer so that you can wrap the gold cord on it and finish your card.  If your tree is "off" a little bit, just trim a little off of the edges so that you can line it up.

Here is the Second card using the Spotlight Technique, the picture really doesn't do it justice!

Card 2 – Flower Bunch
Stamp Sets:  Grateful Bunch, Wetlands
Ink:  Lost Lagoon, Black
Paper:  Soft Sky Base, Lost Lagoon Layer, Tip Top Taupe banner 1 x 2 ½, Love Blossoms DS 2x4, White Scrapes & Lost Lagoon Scrapes
Accessories: Blossom Punch, Triple Banner Punch, Scallop Punch 2 3/8, Candy Dots, Dimensions, Circle Punch 2”, Wink of Stella, Mouse Pad as the stamps used were photopolymer and will stamp better if you place your cardstock on top of a mouse pad or foam pad of some type.

Hints:  I just loved this card, not only was it really simple but the effect that the Wink of Stella glimmer pen adds is just unbelievable!!  Using the Blossom Punch, punch out your 3 Blossoms in one step.  I used the Wink of Stella on the all of the flowers.  You will want to try this yourself, it's great!

This was the Special Project, what's so special?!!  The stamp set is Birthday Blooms from the Occasions Mini Catalog.  I didn't think I needed but I seen so many pretty cards using this set that I knew it was a must have!!  This card I cased from Pinterest.

Fancy Project – Birthday Blooms Dear One
Stamp Sets: Birthday Blooms, Gorgeous Grunge (inside)
Ink:  Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Soft Sky, Memento Black
Paper:  Pool Party Base, Tip Top Taupe Layer, Whisper White
Accessories: Bermuda Bay Sequins, Sponge Daubers, White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Versamark Ink

Hints:  Be sure to use your Embossing Buddy, you won't have any problems with embossing powder sticking where it isn't suppose ti!  This card uses the Emboss Resist Technique, I loved the results!

What else is happening?!

SAB is still in Full Swing and 3 new stamp sets will be added on February 16, and three will be retired. Be sure to place your $50 order so that you can get these sets for FREE.

*Outside Orders Qualify to be entered into a drawing for some Designer Series Paper stack, this 6x6 paper is just perfect for card making and can be found in the Occasions mini catalog or Annual Catalog.  Note:  it is necessary for me to receive 3 outside orders in order for this to work. If I do not receive enough orders, I will still send you a beautiful pack of 4 All Occasions Cards.
*Hostess Code You Will Need: I am again offering a Hostess Code for any outside orders, the code is:  QFJAEJFM  It is necessary to use this code if you place an outside order.  Be sure to select me as your demonstrator, Stampin' Up! will notify me that you placed an order.  VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure that the box that says "Do Share my Information with Demonstrator" is NOT checked.  If it is checked your order will come through as Anonymous and I won't know who placed the order.
In Closing, I am already working on the March Technique which will be Direct to Paper with Sponge Daubers and the Special Project Fancy Fold will be the Curtain Pleat Card.  These cards are sure to be fun and I can't wait to share the with you, so stay tuned.
Happy Stamping!
