March Technique Class - Direct to Paper with Sponge Daubers Cards

This week we had our monthly Technique Class with the Direct to Paper with Sponge Daubers.  What a fun technique, not only did we learn how to use this technique BUT we found out how munch fun it was and that it gives us a softer image.  When you stamp using ink pads, the image is crisp and clear.  With the DTP-Sponge Daubers the image is softer, almost like a watercolor image.

 Here is the Fancy Fold Card - Pleated Skirt Fold

This fold can be challenging but with a few score lines and folds, you can create this lovely girly card!  Here are the dimensions and directions:

Taking the DS paper which measures 7 3/4 x 3, On the right side of the paper make a tick at 1 ¼” along the short end and at 3” on the long end, line this up at an angle in your cutter and cut that corner off.  Line up the uncut edge and score at 3”, 3 ½”, 5” & 6 1/8”. Fold accordion style on the score lines, back and forth.  Trim to 7” so that once it is folded it will fit on the Hello Honey layer.  Add some adhesive to the back of each pleat to hold the folds in place. Add some adhesive to the front pleats to also hold them in place. Complete the project.

March Technique Class - Direct to Paper with Sponge Daubers

Direct to Paper Using Sponge Daubers

 

A fun way to stamp, just dab ink directly to the stamp and then stamp your image!  I have found that this creates a soft image and works perfect with solid stamps!  I had so much fun playing with this technique, that I have one card already ready (but that could change, you know me!)

 

                            Join me for a fun two hours of stamping!!

 

We will also be making a Curtain Fold Card as our Fancy Fold card, this is such a pretty fold, especially when you use double sided Designer Series Paper. Isn't it pretty?!!

February Kit Class Cards

We had a great time making three cards each of five different designs for all occasions, a total of fifteen cards were made.  Along with some visiting, joking around and stamping fun; we had a great time!!

Here are the cards that we made:

 Using the Stampin' Up! stamp set Heartfelt Sympathy and the Bloomin Heart Die; it's great when you can think of different ways to use a die!  Who knew what a beautiful card could be made from a mistake!!

 Using the Stampin' Up! Grateful Bunch Stamp set, Wink of Stella was added to the flowers to add a little sparkle.  The joke of the night was is it Stella or is it Wanda, you decide!! 

A beautiful Gate Well card using Stampin' Up! Garden in Bloom, some emboss resist and sponging was involved on the background here.

 Birthday Balloons!!  The card uses the Stampin' Up! Celebrate Today stamp set, what a fun set it was also!

 Our last card was a great congratulations card, using the Stampin' Up! Circle of Spring and Timeless Love stamp sets.  We realized that this card had a lot of parts, but it turned out so pretty!!

February Project - Card Tote & Cards

I was looking for an "easy" project that I could share with you and also make for door prizes, hostess gifts or even as a present.  Since I know how hard it can be to score a lot of different lines and then try to make your project professional I was looking for something easy yet would look great.  I am happy to report, I found it!  This lovely Card Tote only has 4 score lines, goes together in a snap and, in my opinion, looks professional enough to share!!
