Saturday Spotlight Stamper - Bernie Seidl

Today's Spotlight Stamper is our own Bernie Seidl. Bernie is always surprising me with her beautiful card creations. Here are some very pretty Fall and Halloween cards that she shared with me.

Facebook Live Replay - Life is BeautifulI

 This week's Facebook Live featured the Stampin' Up! stamp set called Life is Beautiful. This very versatile stamp set was inspired by Million Sales Achiever LeeAnn Greff.  I like how it will work for Summer, Spring Fall or Winter. I can use it all year round. This stamp set can be found on page 51.

Cutting & Scoring:

• Coastal Cabana 8 1/2” x 5-1/2”, scored at 4-1/4”

• Coastal Cabana 4” x 5-1/4”

• 2020-2022 In Color 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper Cinnamon Cider (DSP) 2” x 5-1/4”

Instructions:

• Emboss 4” X 5-1/4” Coastal Cabana with Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder.

• Stamp Sentiment from Beautiful Autumn using Early Espresso Ink on piece of 2” x 5-1/4” In Color Cinnamon Cider DSP. Adhere to embossed layer as shown.

• Adhere the embossed layer to the card base.

• Using the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, die cut the second to largest Hippo & Friends Dies from a piece of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. With the medium Water Painter, add Coastal Cabana ink for the sky, and Cinnamon Cider ink for the ground.

• Stamp squirrel in Early Espresso ink on Whisper White cardstock. Color the squirrel with Cinnamon Cider Blends, and die cut using the coordinating Special Days die.

• Stamp acorn image on Cinnamon Cider cardstock, color top of acorn with Bronze Blends. Punch out acorn using the coordinating punch.

• Adhere the squirrel and acorn to the water colored background as shown using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

• Adhere the Hippo & Friends Die to the front of the card as shown using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

• Enjoy!

Get Your Jingle On!

Do you wish that you had more time to get your Christmas cards done? Join me the next 3 months, where we will be creating Christmas Cards. We will be using NEW stamp sets from the Holiday and Annual Catalog!  So page down, I have listed the cards throughout this post. Let me know your favorite and if you can join us or want this as a to go class.

 Card #2 - Hark the Angels

We will be making 10 Christmas Cards. This is how it works; I am posting Christmas Card Samples along with this Invite. You pick your favorite one and let me know. Between now and class I will cut and score the cards for you and bring them to class.

All you need to remember is your adhesive and scissors. 

Please only pick one card for September, unless you feel you can complete 20 cards, then you can pick 2 designs of 10.

Card #3 - Christmas Bells 

Only one design per 10 cards, it makes it easier for me when I am cutting and for you when you are making your cards.

Card #4 - Red Poinsettia

 If you can make it, please send me an email with your choice by September 26 so that I have time to get everything cut.

Card #5 - White Poinsettia

 

NOTE: This class is the same time as the Kit Class, if you sign up for both the Kit Class & Christmas Class, please keep that in mind. Thanks!!

Bernie's Stamping Challenge

 I want to share and invite you to participate in Bernie's Stamping Challenge. Last month, Bernie Seidl thought it would be so much fun if we used the Double Dutch Barn Fold and all design a card.  So I am inviting everyone to use my directions (listed below) and design your own Double Dutch Barn Fold Card. My only requirement is that it has to be mostly Stampin' Up! materials. After you have made your card, you can either send it to me (message me for the address) or take a picture of it and email it to me at budy98@yahoo.com.

Here is the card that I made so that you have a sample:

Here are the detailed instructions for you to follow:

Project Recipe:

Daffodil Delight Base – 4” x 9”, scored at 3 ¾”

Daffodil Delight Sides – 2 ½” x 3 ½”, scored ½ “ one side

Cajun Craze Layer – 3 ¾” x 3 ½” & 3 ¼” x 2 1/8” &

¾ “ x 3 ¼” Banner

DSP – 3 ½” x 3 ¼”, 2” x 3” (2)

Gold or Bronze Foil – 3 ¼” x 3 ¾” (Sunflower)

Whisper White – ½” x 3 (Banner), 3 ¾” x 5 (Inside)

Accessories:

Dimensions, Gold Gilded Gems, Daffodil Marker (inside), Sunflower Dies, Lovely Labels Punch, Corner Punch

Instructions:

• Score the long side of the largest piece of Daffodil Delight and score at 7”. Score the 2 Daffodil Delight pieces that are 2 ½” x 3 ½” at ½” on one side only.

• Taking the 2 Daffodil Delight side pieces, glue the ½” tabs on adhere them to the bottom of the card base at the sides to form the two barn doors.

• Round the bottom two corners of the top flap to make the barn roof shape.

• Adhere the Cajun Craze layer on the Top Flap (Be sure to round off the bottom two corners) and the two side flaps.

• Adhere the Whisper White 3 ¾” x 5” piece to the inside of the card.

• Use the Sunflower Die on the Gold or Copper Foil, apply the Adhesive Backing before running it through the Big Shot. (Optional but makes it easier)

• Add the DSP pieces to the Cajun Craze layers and adhere to the Daffodil Delight Flaps.

• Stamp sentiment on the strip of white, and then punch both ends in the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch, Glue only half to one of the Flaps (Doors)
