March Technique - Bekoh Background Technique

I am late posting our class cards because I was on vacation and out of the state where the internet was super slow!!  So I am catching up today, having just got back last night.  Boy, there sure is no place like home!  My beagle, Teddy, sure was happy to see his mom!

The Bekoh Technique creates a unique and very pretty background for the following two technique cards.  By using sponge daubers, Stampin' Up! ink pads and Whisper White Cardstock you will see what I mean!!

 Card 1 - Happy Graduation!!

Stamp Sets:  Celebrate Today, Lovely Amazing You (New set just out!)

Ink:  Bermuda Bay (Stars & Words), Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Strawberry Slush, Very Vanilla Craft

Paper:  Pool Party Base 5 ½ x 8 ½, Strawberry Slush Layer 4 x 5 ¼, Whisper White 3 ¾ x 5, 3x4(2)

Accessories: Sponge Daubers, Balloon Framelits, Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim (Occasions Catty), Dimensions
Sponge Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Crushed Curry all over your piece of Whisper White cardstock. Using the Heart Template, sponge Very Vanilla Craft ink all over using a light touch and a circular motion, the ink will be wet but will dry; just be careful when assembling your card.  Stamp the Happy Balloon and cut out using the Balloon Framelits, attach Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim to the back of the balloon and put a small amount of tape on the trim to create the balloon’s tail.  Apply the Happy Balloon to the front of your card with dimensions.

Card 2 - Birthday Cake Day!

Stamp Sets:  Big Day (SAB)

Ink:  Melon Mambo, Hello Honey, Tempting Turquoise, White Craft

Paper:  Melon Mambo Base 5 ½ x 8 ½, Daffodil Delite Layer 4 x 5 ¼, Whisper White 3 ¾ x 5

Accessories:  In Color Sequins, Sponge Daubers, Circle Framelits
Sponge Melon Mambo and Hello Honey randomly over the piece of Whisper White cardstock, covering the entire area.  Taking the circle template, using a sponge dauber apply White Craft ink wherever you would like, moving the template to pick up areas. **I used a light touch and a circular motion**  **Let dry for alittle bit, it will be wet but its okay** Stamp Celebrate your Big Day in Tempting Turquoise, decorate with sequins.  The inside Whisper White piece is stamped in Tempting Turquoise the sentiment with the birthday cake stamped in Melon Mambo.

And now for the Fancy Fold Project - Envelope Card

using the Envelope Board - Perfect Day Wedding

Isn't this a pretty card?!!  It just turned out so pretty!!

Fancy Project – Envelope Card using Envelope Board – Perfect Day Wedding

Stamp Sets: Your Perfect Day (Occasions Catty)

Ink:  Baked Brown Sugar, Rose Red, Wild Wasabi

Paper:  Blushing Bride 7 ½ x 7 ½, Very Vanilla 4 x 5, Belly Band using Blushing Bride 2 x 11
 (score at 3 5/8 & 8)

Accessories:  Pearl Jewels, Circle Framelits, Lovely Lace Embossing Folder

Here is the inside of the card when you remove the belly band!  Isn't this just beautiful?!!

Here are the detailed instructions:

Using the Envelope Board, place your 7 ½ x 7 ½ piece of Blushing Bride cardstock – line up at the 3 3/8 mark and punch and using the scoring line, score to the punch (using a smooth scoring pressure) now turn the cardstock to the other end and this time line up your previous score mark with the Score Guide on the Envelope Board – punch again and add another score line using the Envelope Board score line. And again turn your cardstock to the next side, lining it up again with the previous score mark with the Score Guide, punch again and score; And one more time rotate cardstock to the last side, lining up previous score mark, punch and score.  So that when you get done, you have a score line and punch on all 4 sides of your cardstock.

Taking your paper trimmer, trim OFF the 2 smaller envelope flaps (save them for the front of the card).  Run the 2 small flaps through the Big Shot using the Lovely Lace Embossing Folder.

Fold the 2 longer flaps IN, this will form the front of the card. Run your belly flap piece the Big Shot, BUT only place the center part of the flap in the embossing folder.  Fold in the two ends around the embossing folder so that they do not become embossed.  Taking a piece of sticky tape, overlap the two ends (use your main card for a guide) and secure.

Decorate the Very Vanilla piece with your sentiment, adhere inside the main part of the card.  Stamp and cut out the circle, and attach it to the embossed part off your belly band using 3 dimensions attached to the circle part; one on the left side, one in the middle and one on the right side.  Apply 4 Pearl Jewels to the circle wreath to complete the card.

And there you have it!!  The March Class is finished, I have alot of catching up to do and will be working pretty hard to get ready for the two March classes coming up!  I am adding a Day Class that will not be a technique class but rather making three lovely cards and a Kit Class where we will order the Stampin' Up! Kits and then get together to make the cards.  So stay tuned, I will have those emails out as soon as I can.

Next Technique Class is April 13 and April 15 - The technique will e Easy Texture Embossing Folder Stamping!!  You will want to see this very easy technique, and always know that my classes are available as a kit and can be ordered from me.

Take care, Happy Stamping!!
Cindy
