July Technique of the Month - Bubbles Background

I am so excited to share with you the July Technique!  I was all ready to start taking pictures of my cards yesterday only to discover that my camera battery was dead!!  So a day late, but this technique is so easy and one you can try at home.  Just might want to invite your kids or grandchildren to help as they are going to wonder why you are up to when you start blowing bubbles onto your cardstock!!

This is all you need to make this fun background; Reinkers,  a Cup, Straw and some kid's Bubbles!

Taking approximately 1/4 cup of water, adding some kids bubbles and approximately 10 drops of reinker of your choice to the cup.  Place a straw in the cup and stir it up so that it is well blended. ) Place cardstock over the top of the cup (I found that a porous type of cardstock like Stampin' Up! Shimmery White worked well for me).  I also found that using a darker color of reinker was best as the water does water and lighten it up.

Start blowing bubbles so that they pop onto your cardstock.  You will be able to see the bubbles rise to the top, just don't let them overflow!!  Re position your cardstock so that the bubbles hit all of the area.  Once you have your cardstock covered with bubbles, set aside  to dry.  While the cardstock was drying, you can stamp your sentiment on the inside, decorate your envelope; you get the idea. It only takes a couple of minutes for the cardstock to dry.

Here is the first card, you can see the bubbles that dried onto the white cardstock, the color used was Watermelon Wonder.

Stamp Set:  Love & Affection
Ink:  Soft Suede, Mint Macaron, Watermelon Wonder
Reinker:  Watermelon Wonder
Paper:  Mint Macaron Base, Watermelon Wonder Layer, Shimmery White 3 3/4 x 2 3/4, Mint Macaron layer for White 3 x 4
Accessories:  Affectionately Your DSP Paper, Petal Burst Embossing Folder, 2016-18 Enamel Shapes, Dimensions, Banner Punch
Here is the second technique card, on this one we used Marina Mist for the top and Cajun Craze for the bottom.  You can really see that the darker Cajun Craze Reinker really showed up quite nicely.

Stamp Set:  Jar of Love
Ink:  Dapper Denim, Peekaboo Peach, Soft Sky, Smokey Slate
Reinker:  Cajun Craze, Marina Mist
Paper:  Marina Mist Base, Peekaboo Peach Layer, Shimmery White 3 3/4 x 5, Whisper White scraps for the jar and jar lid.
Accessories:  Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon, In Color Dollies (cut in half), Dimensions, Everyday Jars Framelits

Our Fancy Project Card is called Double Fold.  The fold is at the top.  I cut my Very Vanilla cardstock just a little bit smaller than the Sweet Sugarplum piece so that it would fit nicely.  I cased this card from one found on Pinterest.  I am really loving this delicate Thinlet called Detailed Floral, it just makes an elegant card that is perfect for weddings, but could be used for a birthday also.
Stamp Set:  Floral Phrases
Ink:  Early Espresso, Sweet Sugarplum
Paper:  Sweet Sugarplum 4 1/4 x 11, Very Vanilla 4 x 10 3/4 (score both pieces at 5 1/4 so that it is a top folding card)
Accessories:  Detailed Floral Thinlets, Rhinestone Jewels

There we have this month's Technique class; my stamping ladies loved the cards and I always enjoy hearing from members their thoughts and I also love how the more experienced stampers will take a new stamper under her wing and help her along.  I heard one lady say to a new stamper Wednesday night, "You will like Cindy's classes, she is always so patient."

Also BIG thanks to all of my ladies who always stay after class to help me clean up, you have no idea how helpful this is and I appreciate you all!!

Don't forget Bonus Days is going on right now to the end of the month.  You will receive an email $5 coupon for every $50 you spend with Stampin' Up!!  Be sure to copy down your coupon number a they cannot be duplicated.
