November Technique - Shimmer Paint

Stampin' Up! gives us some wonderful products for adding bling and zing to our handmade cards and paper crafting projects!  Shimmer Paint will add that subtle yet effective glimmer to a piece.

We explored two ways to do just that when we met for our monthly technique class in November.  Let me show you what I mean!

Card #1 -Winter Woods

Many times when I look out my stamping window, which just happens to face the family woods, I see a picture just like this. The sun is almost set, and the sky is showing beautiful hues of purples in the navy night.

Stamp Sets:  Winter Woods, Timeless Tidings
Ink:  Rich Razzelberry, Night of Navy, Memento Black
Paper:  Night of Navy Base, Gray Granite Layer, Rich Razzelberry 3x5 layer, Whisper White, Champagne Glitter Paper 1x5 strip.
Accessories:  Frost White Shimmer Paint (3 drops to 2 oz. Rubbing Alcohol)

HINT:  Color was sponged onto Whisper White paper before adding the shimmer paint. Hold your spritzer back about 10 inches to spritz the Shimmer Paint/Alcohol mixture onto your paper.

Card #2 - Snowflake Shimmer
Stamp Sets:  Snow is Glistening
Ink:  Balmy Blue, Highland Hunter, Memento Black
Paper:  Balmy Blue Base, Highland Hunter Layer, Whisper White scraps, Silver scraps, White Velvet Snowflakes 4x4 paper
Accessories:  Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, Sponging, Dimensionals, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Stamparatus.

HINT:  Emboss the Highland Hunter Layer using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and Big Shot, then sponge Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint over the entire layer for some beautiful "shimmer".

Card #3 - Dashing Deer Inside Step Card (Fancy Fold)
This card turned out so beautiful and I love the how easy it was, with just a few score lines we created this  beautiful Inside Step Card.

Stamp Sets:  Dashing Deer
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Gray Granite
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler Base, Mossy Meadow layer, Whisper White, Festive Farmhouse DSP
Accessories:  Dimensionals, 2" Circle Punch, Starburst Circle Punch

HINT:  Score inside Whisper White piece at 5 1/2" and then 1" increments on each side = 3 score lines on each side for a total of 6 scores. At 2 1/2", 3 1/2", 4 1/2", 5 1/2", 6 1/2", 7 1/2", and 8 1/2".

Here is the inside of the card, isn't it neat?!!
There you have it, I think that the cards turned out great, tell me what you think!!
