CASE-ing Color |
There are a lot of ways to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) a project. You can re-create it to look exactly like the original. You can make the original card with different colors. You can use different products and CASE the template/sketch to create a similar card layout. And, like our artist did here, you can CASE the color palette only. Our artist chose her color palette based on three cards from the 2024–2025 Annual Catalog pages 92–93. The original cards featured Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, Gold, Pebbled Path, and Petunia Pop. You’ll notice that while the artist used the same colors on the new card, some are more prominent or less prominent than on the original cards. The new card also includes more white space. These changes create a whole new look. For the You’re on My Mind card, our artist started with a Pebbled Path card base and stamped images in Pebbled Path ink for a tone-on-tone look. Then instead of using Garden Green and Granny Apple Green Cardstock and ink, she just used those colors in ink on the new card. Both projects feature Gold Embossing Powder, but it’s a little more subtle on the new card. The artist also added other metallic elements with the Brushed Brass Butterflies. Petunia Pop plays a smaller role on the new card as the background for the sentiment. Have you tried CASE-ing just the color palette of a project? It’s a great way to get inspired by other projects, while still exercising plenty of your own creativity.
