September Technique Cards - Wood Planking

I have a great technique to share today, it is called Wood Planking and it is the technique that we did at our monthly technique class. What a fun and easy way to create a new look using Designer Series Paper. Cut strips of Wood grain Designer Series Paper like our Stampin' Up! Wood Texture paper. Distress the edges using a scissors and then covering the white core with a marker like Early Espresso.

Card #1 - Beautiful Promenade

I love the colors of this card and how it turned out, don't you?! This stamp set is also one that I think fell by the wayside as there are so many possibilities with it. It is definitely one that we will be using again!

Card #2 - Thinking of You

Fancy Fold - Hello

Isn't this card great?!  I saw the idea to use some real cotton and glue it into the bouquet that is on the milk can. It really adds dimension, along with the Chicken Wire that is new in the Holiday Catalog.

Ink:  Memento Black, Smokey Slate
Paper:  Pool Party Base, Coastal Cabana Layer, Country Lane DSP, Whisper White

Here is the card when you open it. This card adds that little bit of "Wow"! that we are always looking for.
