My Special Valentines!

The wind is blowing pretty hard tonight and we're in a windchill advisory until tomorrow afternoon. So what better time than to go to my stamping studio and create some special Valentines for my parents, husband and friends.

I saw this template on Splitcoast Stampers, and saw so many wonderful creations, that I had to just try my hand at making some Pocket Heart Valentines. The cards weren't that hard and I really had a good time making them. I also learnt that just because some cardstock was used at Christmas, you can use it again at Valentines! I really love Stampin' Ups Designer Papers.

This card I made for my parents, I just love how it turned out. The Cuttlebug swirled background really made this card!

This card I made for my husband. Not to worry, he doesn't even know that I have a blog, AND he has no idea how to even turn a computer on!!

My Valentine Cards

Just as I promised, here are my Valentine cards. Here is the recipe for this very cute card.

Recipe:
Stamps: SU Happy Heart Day & SU Love is in the Air (retired)
Card Stock: Pink Passion, Pink Designer Paper, Whisper White, Very Vanilla
Ink: Pixie Pink

Embellishments: Pink Heart Brad, Pink Embossed Hearts, Small and Large Tag Punch, Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon

*************************************************************************************

Here is the Second Card that I made. I realize that I made two cards using a retired SU stamp (*gasp) but I just love those hearts and wanted to try my hand at embossing. I sometimes find myself in a slump and don't emboss enough for whatever reason.

Recipe:

Stamps: SU Love is in the Air (retired)
Ink: Night of Navy
Card Stock: Real Red, Night of Navy, Creamy Carmel
Embellishments: Red Embossed Hearts, 1 3/4" and 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Small Oval Punch, Heart Blocks Cuttlebug, Silver Heart Brad

************************************************************************************
Here is the third card that I made. I got a Cuttlebug for Christmas and used it and my Vine Swirl Embossing Folder to make the background. Its pretty neat. I also used the Cuttlebug embossing folders on the red card above. I just love the Cuttlebug and I want to get some more embossing folders. It is just the best.
Recipe:
Stamps: SU Celebrate Everything
Cardstock: Pixie Pink, Sage, Black, Whisper White
Ink: Pixie Pink, Black
Embellishments: 4 Silver Heart Brads, Pretty in Pink Grosgrain Ribbon
**********************************************************************************
I hope you liked my cards, and please come back again. I'll be adding more cards and gifts for Easter and Mother's Day.

Do you have your Valentines yet?

Have you started think about what to get the special person in your life? You know that Valentines Day is only a week and two days away.

Well I have been busy, making Valentine gifts that I sell on consignment at a local craft store in my home town. Just before Christmas I wanted to somehow help pay for my hobby, I visited a local craft shop that specializes in gifts and will put your homemade things for sale in their shop on consignment. My Christmas gifts went over very well and I am hoping that same holds true for Valentines.

Here are some of the things that I made for Valentines, above are the magnets that I made using a coaster and post-it notes, I also decorated a clip for the top and tied a ribbon on it. They turned out just beautiful. What do you think?

This is a closeup of the Valenine purse that I made, the purse part holds Hershey Kisses, I think they are just adorable. And so easy to make.

These are candy bar holders, once again I got to do some stamping on these cute covers that a regular sized candy bar will fit into. Wouldn't this be a nice addition to a Valentine's balloon, say tied to the string? They turned very nice also.

And here we have little boxes that will hold 4 Hershey kisses. They are called Peek-A-Boo boxes. They are very easy to make and will be just the right touch to a balloon or flowers for that special someone.
I will post some of the Valentine Cards that I recently made in my next post, so stay tuned. If you are interested in any of the above gifts, I would be glad to sell them to you, just send me an email.

My Best Friends!

Besides stamping, I also love to spend time with my two beagles, Maggie and Tucker. They are both 4 years old and are very good rabbit hunters.

Maggie looks like your regular beagle, the three colors of white, tan and black. Maggie is what you would call a born hunter. She would rather hunt rabbits or squirrels than anything else. Most days you will find her sitting by the patio window watching. We had to do very little training with Maggie, in fact, she trained Tucker on how to hunt rabbits. Maggie is very independent and will let you know when SHE wants to cuddle. She will nap with you, she has her spot and Tucker has his spot.

Tucker is considered a blue beagle; he has a bluish color to his black, white and tan. Tucker has those big brown bedroom eyes that you instantly fall in love with. But don't let those eyes fool you, there is a little devil that will hide your shoes and steal your snack if you happen to leave it laying on a table. But Tucker is a cuddler, he loves to snuggle and sleep with you when you take a nap.

Hello & Welcome to my Blog!

I am very new to the "blogging world" but I am looking forward to exploring this new avenue. As you can see from the "About Me" I am a stamper. I sometimes feel like I am just getting started stamping, but in truth, I have been stamping for alittle over 2 years. Maybe the reason that I feel that I am a new stamper is that there is so much to learn and I learn something new every time I stamp.

I like stamping as it is something that I have found that I am half-way decent at. I will upload some of my cards very soon for you to enjoy.
