Here's another scrapbook page that I made. While we were in California visiting my sister, my mom and her friend, Loretta decided to get dressed up and have lunch at the Desert Springs Hotel. Its very pretty and they had a great time. The colors that I used for the background cardstock is Stampin' Up! Old Olive and So Saffron. I used by scallop die cut to make the frames for the pictures, I thought that was a nice touch.
Its hard to believe that it was back in 1996 but thats what my notes say, and thank goodness for notes!!
I am told that they even have a boat in the lobby area that you can take to the other end of the hotel. How neat is that?!
While my mom and her friend didn't see any famous people that day, they were impressed with the hotel, the grounds and the lunch that they had.
For this page I used retired Stampin' Up! Groovy Guava cardstock and Cranberry Crisp ink; you wouldn't think that would be a very good combination but it really turned out pretty good. I really brought out the colors of the desiger paper that I used. I realize that the papers were retired, but I just wanted to show you what you can come up with and not spend alot of money. Besides I really like this layout, simple and clean!
