January Technique Cards

The technique for January is called Crayon Resist, so go check out your children's or grandchildren's crayons and find the white crayon, I bet they won't even miss it!

This cool and easy technique creates great highlights on your card that you can recreate again and again.

Start with a piece of Whisper White cardstock and stamp your greeting and images in Memento or Black ink.  Taking a white crayon, color any part of the stamped images that you do not want color. Just sponge on the ink now, take a napkin to remove the ink from the images and you will see the technique emerge.  The ink will not stick to the white crayon leaving you with a great highlighted images.

Card #1 -Falling for You

 This card works really great with this technique. I found that if you stamp your greeting first, it is very easy to stamp the flowers around it.

Ink:  Memento Black
Sponging:  Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzaz
Paper:  Tip Top Taupe Base, Melon Mambo Layer, Whisper White, Pear Pizzaz, Falling in Love Designer Series Paper
Accessories:  Pearl Jewels, Dimensions


Card #2 - Rad Birthday

 I found that when it was time to add the ink, I did a swipping motion back and forth to create the stripes and the gradual color emerging into each other, I really like the affect.

Stamp Sets:  Swirly Bird, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink:  Memento Black
Paper:  Sahara Sand Base, Sweet Sugarplum Layer, Whisper White
Accessories:  Fancy Frost Sequins, Dimensions

Card #3 - Pop Up Birthday

 Isn't this just a fun card, it looks like a birthday present in a card and look at the fun that you will have when you open the the card to reveal the pop up of a trio of balloons.  This stamp set, Balloon Adventures pairs with the Balloon Pop Up Thinlet and is just perfect to add that WOW! to your card
