February Technique Class Cards

 Our technique for February was called SU Blending Brushes and it was a great technique to explore and use.  Blending Brushes have been around for a few years from other companies but Stampin' Up! just started carrying them in the January-June Mini Catalog. We found out that while other companies had blending brushes that were fine, the Stampin' Up! ones had some great features.

We were able to create a soft blend of color when using the new Stampin' Up! Blending Brushes.  Using a circular motion to ink up the brush and starting on a piece of scratch paper and working that into our cardstock was all that we needed to achieve great results. There was no swirls, or uneven color. Clean up was fantastic!!  All you need is just plain water.  I cleaned the brushes the next day by just running them under running water, they cleaned up great!!

Project Recipe

INK: Memento Black, Melon Mambo, Pear Pizzazz

PAPER: Melon Mambo Base, Night of Navy Layer, White Layer & Scraps, Pear Pizzazz Scraps

ACCESSORIES: Always Dies, Magenta Enamel Gems, Dimensionals, Magenta Madness Ribbon, SU Blending Brushes

We also discovered that you can clean excess ink out of your brushes, just add that color to the flower on the inside as decoration.

Card #2 - Heal Your Heart

Project Recipe:

STAMP SETS: Heal Your Heart (SAB), Dragonfly Garden

INK: Memento Black, Calypso Coral, So Saffron

PAPER: Daffodil Delight Base, Basic Black Layer, White

ACCESSORIES: Black Matte Dots, SU Blending Brushes

Card #3 - Fancy Fold - Fancy Flap

Project Recipe:

STAMP SETS: Pretty Perennials, Itty Bitty Birthday

INK: Night of Navy, Rococo Rose

PAPER: Rococo Rose Base 4 1/4" x 7 1/2" Scored at 5 1/2, White 4" x 5 1/4" (Inside) and 2 1/2" x 3 1/4" (Front) Night of Navy Layer for White Front Piece 2 3/4" x 3 1/2", Paper Blooms (SAB) DSP 1 3/4" x 4"

ACCESSORIES: Dimensionals, Perennial Petals Dies, Navy Gems
