Stampin' Up! - Love What We Do

Crafters are all about color, so chances are you’ll enjoy today’s downloadable class featuring the direct-to-paper technique. It gives you permission (if you need it!) to lay down full-strength ink for maximum impact. (The green vibe is strong with this one.) Just hold your open ink pad at a slight angle; then, using a light touch, lightly drag it across your cardstock using a continuous sweeping motion. Repeat with additional colors, then spritz the ink with water and watch the colors blend. To see another way to layer color, see the class download. Then choose your favorite—or try both!

It's a great way to reconnect with friends. Just click on the PDF file below for more ideas!!

Facebook Live Replay - Simply Leaves

I have a simple fun fold to share today which was my Facebook Live on Monday. I don't mind doing fancy folds but I like them simple. For this week's Zig Zag Card, I found a great way to do just that.

Here is a close up of the card:

Project Recipe:

STAMP SETS: Simply Leaves

INK: Cajun Craze, Crisp Cantaloupe, Golden Glow

PAPER: Cajun Craze Base & Layers, Delicate Designs DSP, Wood Grain DSP

ACCESSORIES: Seasonal Cheer Emboss Folder-Leaves, Dimensionals, Metallic Gems, Gold Foil and Classic Greeting Hot Foil System and Dies

CUTTING & SCORING:

  • Cajun Craze Base 5 1/2" x 11" Score at 4 1/4" & 8"
  • Delicate Designs DSP 4" x 5 1/4"
  • Crisp Cantaloupe (Two Tone) 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" (Middle Piece)
  • Crisp Cantaloups (Two Tone) 2 3/4" x 3" (Cut 2)
  • Wood Grain DSP 3 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Following the video, create 2 Templates for the Woodgrain & Crisp Cantaloupe, it made the cutting so much easier. The larger Template is 5 1/4" x 3 1/2 with the right corner from the 5 1/4" to the 3 1/2" mark. The smaller Template is 3" x 2 3/4" and the right corner cut from 3" to 2 3/4".

Here is the video for your viewing pleasure:

I hope that you enjoyed this simple fun fold and video. If you happen to make a card using the instructions above, let me know by sharing it with me.

Don't forget that we have a Paper Share for thew new September-December Catalog.

Let me know if you are interested!
Take care,
Cindy

Stampin' Up! Creative Challenge - July Online Exclusives

Creative Challenge: Use Products from July Online Exclusives
This month’s Creative Challenge is to create a project using products from July Online Exclusives. For our project, we selected the Framed Violets Bundle to create a thoughtful Take Care card. Here’s how to recreate it:
  1. Score a piece of 7" x 5" (17.8 x 12.7 cm) Crumb Cake Cardstock at 3-1/2" (8.9 cm) and fold it in half to create a 3-1/2" x 5" (8.9 x 12.7 cm) card.
  2. Stamp the frame in Pecan Pie ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock and die cut it. Use masking paper to cover the center of the frame while stamping the texture image on the frame.
  3. Die cut the violets, stems, and leaves from Very Vanilla Cardstock and color them using Stampin’ Blends.
  4. Add a small piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock behind each flower so it peeks through the center.
  5. Stamp the sentiment in Pecan Pie ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock and cut it out.
  6. Tie a Linen Thread bow and assemble the card.

Stampin' Up! Love What You Do - It's Almost Halloween Time!

 Love What You Do!

Wow Tip: Frightfully Fun Shadow Stamping

Don't let the spooky season creep up on you! October will be here before you know it, and we’re here to help you get the party started with some not-so-scary shadow stamping.

This clever technique gives you a 3D effect with very little effort. Simply stamp an image twice—once in a dark color and again slightly offset in a lighter color. Now you’ve got depth and a bit of blur, making for a “ghostly,” distinctive look. (As it turns out, a spider web is a nearly perfect image for demonstrating this technique—the image just jumps off the paper!)

Step 1: Using the Stampin’ Positioner, draw two corner guides on the Stampin’ Positioner Grid Paper. Stamp the first spider web in Highland Heather ink. Let the ink dry.

Step 2: Move the paper with the Highland Heather spider web just slightly down and to the left (using the corner guides); stamp the same spider web with Gorgeous Grape ink to create a “shadow.”

Step 3: Sprinkle black embossing powder on the stamped spider web, tap off the excess, then heat emboss.

I hope that you enjoyed today's post, give it a try and let me know what you think.
Take Care,
Cindy
