Thank You

Happy January Everyone! Here in Central Wisconsin we are finally getting alittle break from the cold weather. I know that there is alot of winter left but to have a week with temps in the high twentys to low thirtys is really really nice!! Boy, I bet anyone from the southern states are probably think that I am a nut! But it just goes to show that it doesn't take much!!
I needed a thank you card to thank some friends for inviting us to their Christmas Party that was held last night. My husband and I went and had a lovely dinner with their group at a local restaurant in our town.
So the card, I used Stampin' Up! Rich Razzelberry for the main color of cardstock and ink. The stamp set is Fresh Cuts, along with the SU designer paper, some deminsions to add alittle depth and my Thank You card was born!
My thought for today:
Talent is produced in solitude, Character in the stream of life. Goethe
Thanks for stopping by!

Happy When I am Fishing!

Here is just one of my son's favorite past times, Fishing! It doesn't matter if he is fishing in the spring, summer, fall or winter; this guy loves to fish!
These photos are just a couple of pictures of him, one with his dad when they were fishing. Surprizingly his favorite fish to catch is panfish.
I used Stampin' Up! Happy Together stamp yet, the cardstock is Brocade Blue.
My thought for today:
Happiness is like a butterfly, the more you chase it, the more it will elude you!
As always, thanks for stopping in.

Fall 2009 Scrapbook Page

Here is the page that I came up with for Kristy & Justin's fall page. I noticed that I had alot of the restired SU River Rock cardstock, stamped some leaves and then embossed them in gold, I used my watercolor crayons to add some color to the leaves and the page was done!
A piece of ribbon and a couple of brads completed the page.
I am almost out of pictures for the kids again, but I have some on my camera chip that I have to take to town and print some of the photos. I would print them out on my printer but I just don't care for the quality of the pictures. I figure if I am going to go to all of this work, the photos better look good!!

A Simple Tree Card

I needed some Get Well/Thinking of You type cards. So seeing that I had a brand new Stampin' Up! stamp set, Very Versatile, I figured it was definitely time to stamp a couple of cards. When I make cards, I start with a whole 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock. Cut it in half and then make two cards out of it. When I first started to stamp it was something that my upline encouraged me to do. That way if I send one card, I still have the second one to also use.
This card used colors that was totally out of my element, but according to my SU Color Coach, they were suppose to go together. And I am happy to say that Sage Shadow, Brocade Blue and Pretty in Pink DO go together.
My thought for today:
Do not follow where the path leads, Rather go where there is no path and leave a trail.

Christmas 2009 Scrap Page

Here is the Scrapbook Page that I made for the on-going scrapbook for my son, Justin and his finance, Kristy.
This was their 2009 Christmas Card, I just cut it up and used all of the parts on this page. Using Stampin' Up! cardstock in Close to Cocoa and Chocolate Chip, some SU Designer paper, the new Ornament Punch, some brads that I had and some miniture Christmas ornaments completed the page.
I also got some more pictures from the kids as they were able to look through their scrapbook and liked what they saw.
My thought for today:
Love one another, but make not a bond of love. Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Thank you for visiting my blog, I hope that you enjoy it as much as I have in making it.

From Photos to Cards!

Do you ever wonder what you should do with all of those leftover pictures from last year's vacation? Or you take a pretty picture, say of a rainbow, now what are you going to do with it!

How about making some photo cards? They are easy and are so versatile. The recipient will be happy to get a card from you and you will have used that beautiful photo of the rainbown that you took. Think of it as recycling!!

Thats just what I did I made cards out of photos; from the rainbow to the pretty fall tree to the eagle that was sitting on top of the silo!
And you can too!! Just take a regular 8 1/2 x 11" sheet of cardstock, cut it in half so that you have 2 pieces, both will measure 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Then fold them in half, maybe you a coordinating color under your photo and using two way tape (that you can buy just about anywhere) you have created a very pretty Birthday, Get Well, Sympathy, Thinking of You card; and it didn't cost much at all.
My thought for today: Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true.
Until next time, have a great day and get out there and make something!!

Baby Bears Scrapbook Pages

Here is my scrapbook page layout for the adventure that Kristy had with her friend, Kendell. They got to go with a bear biologist when he visited a bear den in 2007. They got to hold the baby bears and keep them warm while the biologist weighed and measured the mom. What an adventure!!
Even though Justin wasn't along for this adventure, I just couldn't resist making a scrapbook layout for their Memories Scrapbook.
My Thought for today:
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy that makes happiness.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you are enjoying my scrapbook pages.
