This week my featured stamp set is the oh so versatile Brightest Glow. You can find it on page 31-33 in the July-December Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog. I love this set and the different fonts, AND I am so glad that it is not retiring at the end of December. I also wanted to get some practice with the Twisted Ribbon Technique that we will be making on December 13. This class is also available as a To Go Class, watch the video and see how easy it is.
Here is a close up of my card:
Project Recipe:
STAMP SET: Brightest Glow
INK: Evening Evergreen
PAPER: Evening Evergreen Base, Very Vanilla Layer, Lights Aglow Designer Series paper, Soft Succulent Layer, Gold Foil
ACCESSORIES: Painted Label Dies, 2" Circle (Very Vanilla), Cherry Cobbler Matte Dots, Dimensionals
Measurements:
Evening Evergreen Base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" Scored at 4 1/4"
Very Vanilla 2 1/2" x 5 1/4" Scoring every inch from the top down
Lights Aglow DSP 3" x 4" that you cut 1/2" strips from the 3" side (1/2" x 4") 2 pieces of DSP with coordinating pieces
Soft Succulent Layer 2 3/4" x 5 1/8"
Gold Foil 3" x 3 1/2"
Tips: You'll need 6 strips of two different patterns of DSP, you can also use card stock or foils. I cut them in 1/2" x 4" strips. The strips are adhered to a Very Vanilla piece measuring 2 1/2" x 5 1/4" that is scored every 1" from the top down. These score lines will help you when adhering your strips. I did all of the red strips and then did all of the soft succulent strips. You will have 1 strip of each color left. When layering the strips, remember where one ends, another should begin. I used Tombo Adhesive to glue the strips down, and they actually will be sticking to your work surface. This works pretty good as it keeps the Very Vanilla piece from moving. After all of the strips are adhered, pick of Very Vanilla piece and trim all the excess strips off. It works well to turn the piece over and use the Very Vanilla edge as your guide.
Here is the You Tube Video to help you.
