I Have Cards to Share!!

I have been busy making some cards, enjoying the Wisconsin weather and trying to do too much!! I just realized that its been almost a month since I posted anything! The weather has been so nice and I have really enjoyed our spring, but if I am outside I am not stamping or doing anything crafty!! But WHAT I have been doing is getting my flowers beds ready for some new plants. I have been weeding--those darn dandelions are my obsession and raking the dead leaves off. I want to take some pictures of my flowers so that you can see what is already blooming! We finally got some rain on Saturday and that gave me some time to stamp, I didn't realize how much I had missed it!

Anyway, here is my card to share today. It uses the Stampin' Up! stamps Enjoy Every Moment, Whimsical Words, Well Scripted and Pocket Silhouettes. The cardstock is SU Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White. Ink is SU Tempting Turquoise, Certainly Celery, Soft Suede and Cameo Coral. And to complete the card a piece of Tempting Turqouise grosgrain ribbon.

Happy Easter

"Happy Easter" I just got done making a couple of Easter cards and had to share one of them with you. I would have shared both but I got carried away and already sealed it in the envelope! What was I thinking!!

I am posting my Easter card early as I am "leaving on a jet plane" again, back to Florida to help my folks drive back to Wisconsin. I talked to my dad tonight and asked him what the temperature was in Southern Florida, he said 66 degrees. I was sitting on our front porch and our temperature in Central Wisconsin was 77 degrees!! Can you believe that?! They have had very unusual cool temps and we are just the opposite. We are wrapping up March without a single snowflake, the robins are back, my daffodils are blooming and the trees are all budded out just waiting for a nice shower to make them pop! We are dry here though and could really use the rain, then watch the grass grow! But I won't hold my breath that we won't get any more snow, as April has been known to give us some big snow, I hope not but you can never tell.

Table Decorations

Yesterday I got to play!! I had a great idea for some table decorations that I wanted to make for the rehersal dinner for Justin and Kristy for the wedding coming up in June.
I had found the idea on Splitcoast Stampers and knew exactly what I wanted to make, it was just a matter of sitting down and doing them.
I went to Good Will and found these lovely long stem wine glasses and juice glasses; also found some colored sand in the colors for the wedding, lucky was that?!


The shades are made from Stampin' Up! Vellum Cardstock, stamped some flowers from the retired SU set Looks Like Spring, then I took the matching SU punch and punched the flowers, knowing that this way the light will shine through the punched out flowers would add a nice effect. Added the sand to the bottom as I didn't want the glasses to get too hot when I put the tea candles in the glasses. I wanted a simple look and not too gaudy, I did add a vellum daisy with a jewel to the stem base of the glass. Just a little sparkle but not too much.






For the smaller juice glasses I took the vellum again and punched the edges using SU's newest punch, Scallop Trim Border, I just loved the effect it gave to the belly bands that I made for these glasses. Added a vellum daisy and a cardstock daisy with a blue jewel and stamped the word "cherish" and that completed the look. I was going for something simple but yet nice. Since its an outdoor wedding reception and simple rehersal required simple decorations.




Justin and Kristy loved them and I found out that instead of tea candles that there are LED tea lights available which is a great idea and I won't have to worry about the glasses getting hot and cracking. So I am going get some of those and won't they be so pretty on the tables of the rehersal dinner?!!

"Mom's home!" "Mom's home!"

Thats what I think my beagles were saying last night when I got home from Florida. They were sure happy to see me! After we got done with the hugs and kisses it was time to see.............


...what I brought home with me for them!! Tucker and Maggie both remember that Mom always brings back presents! They both loved their new plush squeaker toys. Of course, Tucker doesn't like to share and always feels that when there are two toys, those toys are both meant for him! Maggie is pretty good about it though, she just waits her turn and then she can grab whichever one that she wants!!

Here are some more photos of our trip to Naples, Florida; this year I had a new treat, I didn't have to travel by myself!! My son and his fiance went with me; we spent the week with my mom and dad who were already down there.
At the beginning of the vacation we had some great weather, it was sunny, and we were able to enjoy the beach. Unforunately, this year the week we were there was coolest weather on record so the nice weather didn't last. We still had sunshine, just not warm temps. But thats okay, we still had a great time and went to some fabulous places. It wouldn't have been possible if it hadn't been for these two special people, my mom and dad! We were so lucky to have a tour guide and chauffeur; and mom never got lost!! (Sorry dad, I couldn't resist!!)


Vanderbilt Beach, about 3 blocks from the duplex! How lucky we were to be able to walk to the beach every day if we wanted to!





We spent a day at the Babcock ranch and saw so many interesting things; the swamps, alligators, cougars, turkeys, deer and other animals native to Florida. It was great!










Another highlight of the trip was a sunset cruise on this fabulous yacht, it took us out into the Gulf where we were lucky enough to see a beautiful sunset. And yes if you haven't already guessed, it was on the cool side and windy, but that didn't stop us from having a good time!










It was a great vacation and we were so lucky to be able to spend it together.

Yep Spring is Coming!

Yesterday's post I told that I thought that spring was definitely on its way. Well I know its a for sure thing today!! I was outside today and thought that I should check on some daffodils that I have planted on the west side of the house, and look!! They are up!

I like to call these daffodils, Grandma Mashin's daffodils as I was given the go ahead to dig them up two years ago. Years before my grandmother and grandfather had taken a trip to Europe and she bought the bulbs while on the trip.

This is a picture of our outside cat, Kitzer, she is not quite a year old yet and just didn't know what to make of the running water that was flowing today.

In case you are wondering, it was a nice and warm 56 degrees here in Central Wisconsin.

Good Bye Winter!!

Its almost time to say "Good-Bye Winter!" Here in Wisconsin, its a happy time, the days are getting longer, the snow is melting and the temps are above freezing!! In fact, the temps were up to the mid-40's!!

Next Friday, I leave for my annual Florida vacation. This time though my son and his girlfriend are also going with me. I am quite use to traveling by myself, especially if I am flying. If you are wondering why, its quite simple, the husband refuses to fly. He has never flown and has no desire to fly. So there was only one thing for me to say, "See you when I get back honey!"

My mom and dad are in Florida right now for a couple of months, so each March I usually fly down to spend a week with them. Even though our winter is almost over, its still a fun time to get out of the long pants and sweatshirts and wear shorts and t-shirts!

With that in mind I cased this card, I loved it so much and felt it was definitely fitting! Hope you enjoy it!

Friend to Friend Card

I learnt a new technique last night and just had to try my hand at it. Its called Faux Metal Ceiling tile. It went pretty good and I think that I will share this card with my good friend, Kelly. No particular reason, I just think that everyone deserves a card to say that I was thinking of you today!

The cardstock that I used is Stampin' Up! Rich Razzelberry, one of the new in-colors that I have totally fallen in love with!! The stamps used is Stampin' Up! Pocket Silhouettes and Great Friend.
