The Invitation!

Here is the Scrapbook Page that I made using the invitation that I designed for Kristy & Justin's up-coming wedding. This was a very quick page as most of the work was done, since the actual invite is the vocal point.
The cardstock is Stampin' Up! Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White, the stampset used is Stampin' Up! Baroque Motiffs and In the Spotlight. The invitation is a different fold using a criss cross closing to the middle with the flower and the crystal brad adding enough weight to keep the card closed.

Justin's Gram & Pop!

The other part of Justin's family is my mom and dad. When Justin was born, my dad didn't feel that he was old enough to be a grandfather or grandpa; my mom suggested being called Pop and he liked that! So my mom decided if he could be Pop, that she could be Gram.
Justin is also the only grandchild on my side of the family. How lucky Justin was growing up as my mom and dad only live about one mile from our house. So Justin could always find an excuse to go and visit Pop and Gram. There was always chocolate chip cookies waiting or a ride on one of the horses.
I figured that someday these pages will give Justin and his future family special memories that I have captured in these pages.
As always, thanks for stopping in, I appreciate it.

Justin's Family

A Scrapbook is all about preserving the memories, the adventures, your life. And even though this scrapbook is all about Justin and Kristy, I just felt that I had to devote a page to each of their families.
This first picture is Justin's family, his mom and dad, or rather me and Jim. Justin is an only child, but an only child that was never treated like one. I remember Justin asking me once when he was probably four years old why he didn't have brothers or sisters. I told him that he did, that Magnum (our then beagle) was his brother. He was happy with that and has treated every beagle in our family just like he or she was a brother or sister. Thus the top picture of Maggie, Jim, Me, Justin and Tucker was so fitting. I wanted a picture of Jim and Justin clowning around and a picture of just me and Jim, which was taken by Justin when we went camping a couple of years ago.
As always, thanks for stopping in. My thought for today:
May each day of your life know the warmth of the rainy sun, the fresh crisp rush of the wind, and the rainy joy of the seagulls flight.

Happy New Year Together

I have found with every scrapbook page that I make for the "kids" that I am enjoying myself more and more! My husband thinks I am probably loosing it and maybe I am but I am getting the satisfaction of putting together memories in a scrapbook that they will be able to enjoy for years to come.
This page was a challenge and still so much fun to make. They were only able to give me one picture, and I couldn't think of anything to do with it. But I started laying it out using Stampin' Up! Cool Caribean cardstock as the background, layering the photo, words and date on Tempting Turquoise and Pink Passion cardstock. But I needed something to add alittle "bling" to the page, brads! I remembered that I had some balloon brads, don't ask me why I had some, I must have thought they were cute when I bought them, and I just happened to have a SU stamp of a balloon. And here is the page!

My thought for today:
No goal is too high if we climb with care and confidence.

Summer Time Fun Scrapbook Page

Here is another scrapbook page, I called it Summertime Fun. When I am looking out my picture window and see all of the snow, yep I wish it was summertime!! But we have been enjoying temps in the 30's and its made a very nice January thaw!
This page used Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue, Green Gable and Designer Paper; Close to Cocoa and Bashful Blue ink; a ribbon and a brad to add alittle fun to the page. The stampset was SU also, its retired now, but then most of my stamps are retired. Doesn't make them unusable and I have really gotten my use out of them.
Well, I am almost done with the kids scrapbook, only a couple more pages left. Then I am going to go back to my own scrapbook.
Until the next page, here is my thought, this came from a birthday card that I saved for some unknown reason, I received it from my mother-in-law more than 20 years ago. She is not with us anymore and I am glad that I saved it for that reason.
No wishes are more loving, no thoughts more warm and true; Than those that fill this greeting especially meant for you! Have a Wonderful Day!

Engagement Scrap Pages

Last night I finished another double page for the scrapbook that I am making for our son and his fiance. Rather than crowd the photos that I had, I made it a double page so that when you open the book you will have the "We're Engaged" on the left side and the other page on the right. I really like how that works out by doing a double page this way.
I used Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue and Apricot Appeal cardstock, some Polka Dot Designer Paper and Bashful Blue ink. I also used the SU sets Polka Dot Punches and Figures of Speech. Also notice the engagement ring on the second page and how I used a crystal brad for the diamond. Sometimes I just amaze myself!!!
As always take care, thanks for stopping. Here is my thought for today:
Love is Today; The living, loving, present. Our lives are but the day repeated.

Thank You

Happy January Everyone! Here in Central Wisconsin we are finally getting alittle break from the cold weather. I know that there is alot of winter left but to have a week with temps in the high twentys to low thirtys is really really nice!! Boy, I bet anyone from the southern states are probably think that I am a nut! But it just goes to show that it doesn't take much!!
I needed a thank you card to thank some friends for inviting us to their Christmas Party that was held last night. My husband and I went and had a lovely dinner with their group at a local restaurant in our town.
So the card, I used Stampin' Up! Rich Razzelberry for the main color of cardstock and ink. The stamp set is Fresh Cuts, along with the SU designer paper, some deminsions to add alittle depth and my Thank You card was born!
My thought for today:
Talent is produced in solitude, Character in the stream of life. Goethe
Thanks for stopping by!
