Back to Scrapbooking!!

After brief break, I found that I was running out of ideas for my scrapbooking. But I am back now with new ideas and ready to scrapbook again! I have the "kids" scrapbook pretty much done, just need to do a couple more layouts. I am turning my attention to my own forgotten scrapbook and decided it was time to work on that again.
My scrapbook is called, "Cindy's Adventures", because my husband refuses to fly with me, I have been traveling on my own for the last twelve or more years! I couldn't believe that it was that long until I started my scrapbook of adventures.
This page, and for that matter the next few pages were all taken in 1998 when my sister, my mom and our friend, Loretta visited Universal Studios in Los Angeles, CA. We had a great time and I am enjoying looking at the pictures; and also enjoying how much younger we all looked!!
So stay tuned, I have some neat pages to show you. Tomorrow's post with include a double layout page. I like the double pages, as the first page just blends into and compliments the second page. Its pretty neat. Thanks for stopping, I appreciate it!

Second Valentine's Card

Here is the second Valentine's Day card that I made. I am happy with the results. I used demensions to pop up the hearts and then cut down some tags that I had and attached them using a window brad. I stamped a design and punched it out using a 1/4" punch and used that as my design for the brad.
It was a very busy day for me and I am glad that I was still able to get some stamping in. Got my house cleaned up and that included cleaning both bathrooms, vaccumed and then made a batch of chocolate cookies. The son was home and I think he ate a dozen and took another dozen cookies with him. He said that they don't make cookies at his house as they are on diets. I snickered to myself, there goes the diet I thought! But then I remembered that my mom always made the best chocolate cookies also so I couldn't blame Justin for eating and taking some with him; as I use my mom's recipe also!
Take care, I have a couple more cards to make and will try and post them this week.

Valentine's Day is Coming!

I haven't done any scrapbooking for the last week, have been pretty busy with going to work then doing the chores at night as the hubby has been helping a neighbor with an outside project. So by the time that I finally get in the house, and then hope that there are enough leftovers for supper, I am too tired to stamp!
But this weekend, I started making some Valentine Day cards. This card that I am showing you today using the fun technique, packing tape! Yep thats what I said, packing tape. After punching out the "hugs and kisses" stamped image, I used packing tape with the sticky side showing and then sprinkled Dazzeling Diamonds onto the tape, take the punched out hugs and kisses onto the back and assemble your card. You then have a very pretty and sparkily card. Of course my scanner doesn't do it justice but its such a fun technique.
I have another card to share and that will be in tomorrow's post. So until then, take care!!

The Invitation!

Here is the Scrapbook Page that I made using the invitation that I designed for Kristy & Justin's up-coming wedding. This was a very quick page as most of the work was done, since the actual invite is the vocal point.
The cardstock is Stampin' Up! Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White, the stampset used is Stampin' Up! Baroque Motiffs and In the Spotlight. The invitation is a different fold using a criss cross closing to the middle with the flower and the crystal brad adding enough weight to keep the card closed.

Justin's Gram & Pop!

The other part of Justin's family is my mom and dad. When Justin was born, my dad didn't feel that he was old enough to be a grandfather or grandpa; my mom suggested being called Pop and he liked that! So my mom decided if he could be Pop, that she could be Gram.
Justin is also the only grandchild on my side of the family. How lucky Justin was growing up as my mom and dad only live about one mile from our house. So Justin could always find an excuse to go and visit Pop and Gram. There was always chocolate chip cookies waiting or a ride on one of the horses.
I figured that someday these pages will give Justin and his future family special memories that I have captured in these pages.
As always, thanks for stopping in, I appreciate it.

Justin's Family

A Scrapbook is all about preserving the memories, the adventures, your life. And even though this scrapbook is all about Justin and Kristy, I just felt that I had to devote a page to each of their families.
This first picture is Justin's family, his mom and dad, or rather me and Jim. Justin is an only child, but an only child that was never treated like one. I remember Justin asking me once when he was probably four years old why he didn't have brothers or sisters. I told him that he did, that Magnum (our then beagle) was his brother. He was happy with that and has treated every beagle in our family just like he or she was a brother or sister. Thus the top picture of Maggie, Jim, Me, Justin and Tucker was so fitting. I wanted a picture of Jim and Justin clowning around and a picture of just me and Jim, which was taken by Justin when we went camping a couple of years ago.
As always, thanks for stopping in. My thought for today:
May each day of your life know the warmth of the rainy sun, the fresh crisp rush of the wind, and the rainy joy of the seagulls flight.

Happy New Year Together

I have found with every scrapbook page that I make for the "kids" that I am enjoying myself more and more! My husband thinks I am probably loosing it and maybe I am but I am getting the satisfaction of putting together memories in a scrapbook that they will be able to enjoy for years to come.
This page was a challenge and still so much fun to make. They were only able to give me one picture, and I couldn't think of anything to do with it. But I started laying it out using Stampin' Up! Cool Caribean cardstock as the background, layering the photo, words and date on Tempting Turquoise and Pink Passion cardstock. But I needed something to add alittle "bling" to the page, brads! I remembered that I had some balloon brads, don't ask me why I had some, I must have thought they were cute when I bought them, and I just happened to have a SU stamp of a balloon. And here is the page!

My thought for today:
No goal is too high if we climb with care and confidence.
