Snowflake Thanks!

I always like Christmas; not for the food, presents and spending time with family and friends; but to celebrate the birth of Christ and all that it means. That doesn't mean that I don't enjoy the presents, spending time with family and friends and food and food and food!! Christmas is such a wonderful feeling and we are all so lucky to be able to celebrate it.

Now its time to eat leftovers and think about getting life back to normal. I started making a few thank you cards that I want to send and this is what I came up with.

Merry Christmas from Our House to Yours!

Merry Christmas from the Ehlers family in the Winter Wonderland Capital of the World, or at least this winter!!

I have been so busy getting ready for Christmas that you may have noticed that I have been absent for quite some time. Between baking, making some candy, making all of my Christmas cards; there was not alot of time left for anything else.

I hope you like the above card, it was one that I used for my cards this year. Stay tuned for 2011, Stampin' Up! has some great specials coming up and I promise that I will share them with you.

As always take care and have a Joyous and Wonderful Christmas!

Easy Christmas Gift

I was looking for a quick and easy gift that I could make for my hair dresser, here is what I came up with.

Its alittle box that will hold 4 tea lights. The tea lights look like I have stamped the tops, but I didn't. Its just tissue paper that I stamped and melted into the top of the candles. Pretty neat huh?!! It took about 15 minutes from start to finish to make the little box and decorate the tea lights. AND the best part, it turned out so cute!!

As always, take care and thanks for stopping in.

Hugs to You!

A Hug For You!

If I could catch a rainbow

I would do it just for you

And share with you its beauty

On the days you're feeling blue.

If I could build a mountain

You could call your very own;

A place to find serenity,

A place to be alone.

If I could take your troubles I would toss them in the sea,

But all these things I'm finding

Are impossible for me.

I cannot build a mountain

Or catch a rainbow fair,

But let me be what I know best,

A friend who's always there..

Clear Skies and No Wind!

After two days of awlful wind, up to 77 mph wind gusts and cloudy skies, this afternoon the sun peeked out and the wind started to go down. What a relief! We never lost our power but alot people that I know did. What crazy weather we've had here in Central Wisconsin. I couldn't believe it when the weatherman called it a "non tropical cyclone". All I know is that it sure was windy, broke another branch on our four year old Maple tree that we planted.
Here are a couple more cards that I made this past week. It uses the new stamp set from Stampin' Up! Day of Gratitude. I really love the fall colors of Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, More Mustard and Crumb Cake. With Halloween just around the corner, I also wanted to share the little treats that I made. I made them first as an incentive that my upline put out there AND I am happy to announce that I won a prize for making them. I am always happy when my stamping work is reconized, its such an honor.

But the second reason that I made them is that I had this great idea and I just couldn't wait to make them and share with people that I know. I have handed these little treats out in hopes of introducing people to stamping or just to say, "this is what I love to do!" While I didn't get anyone to book a workshop, I enjoyed making them, it was an ice breaker as people that received them thought they were so cute! So in my mind, it was still a success.I do have a workshop to prepare for in two weeks, I like to take my time when I come up with the cards that I will demo and also the cards that will be part of the make and take by the ladies that attend. When I am rushed I always seem to forget something! Could be part of getting old, not quite sure about that though!!

Time to fold some clothes and think about what else, Stamping!! As always take care, and thanks for stopping in!

Finally!!!

I finally got my blog fixed, what a relief!! I didn't know what to do with that little video/picture box that was always in the middle of the screen. But I think I figured it out. Don't ask how, as I have no clue what I did!! Thats the story of my life, just keep at it; don't give up, you'll figure it out eventually!!!

I wanted to share some cards with you that I have been working on. In fact I have been very busy with my stamping. I did a workshop in September and I have another in November. I am hoping to build up my business so that I have a workshop every month. That would make me very happy.

This is my Thanksgiving card for this year, you should see it in person! Its just fabulous!!

Well I have to run, All My Children is on and I hate missing a single show!! As always, take care.

Fall is in the Air!

Fall is in the air, the air is crisp today and the sun is out!! We haven't had sun for a couple of days, more like rain and more rain. To the total of almost 6 inches. Flooding everywhere, haven't seen anything like this in years! But today the sun is out and I was walking around the yard and stopped in the garage to see our little kittens. All four were cuddled up in the basket of my four wheeler napping. All I can see, aren't they cute??!!

Last weekend, hubby and I went on a road trip and stopped at the Posy Patch, they have beautiful mums, among the pumpkins, corn stalks, gourds, you name it they have it. And it is so beautiful. I got myself three new mums and can't wait to plant them. Just have to wait a week or so for the ground to dry up some. But for now I am enjoying them in the chair that Justin bought me.

Thats all I have to post today, hope you enjoyed the pictures and as always, "take care!"

Tangerine Tango 4 x 5 1/4 and 2 2/3 x 2/3
Very Vanilla 2 1/2 x 2 1/2
Glossy Cardstock 3 2/3 x 5

So back to stamping. The card that I sharing with you uses the new stamp set from Stampin' Up! Just Believe. If you would like to recreate this card for your own use, feel free to CASE it! Here are the demensions:

The Wedding Day!

Life is starting to get back to normal! It seems that the day went so fast but I was able to really enjoy the day and myself. Only cried a few tears and I was really proud of myself. I am finally able to share some pictures with you. So here they are!

Here is the happy couple at the photo shoot before the wedding. All of the professional pictures were taken at the Wildcat Supper Club, they have beautiful grounds, complete with a pond.

The entire wedding party after the formal shot with their sunglasses!

Justin and his Groomsmen clowning for the camera. They did alot of that!!

Everything went so well, and it was a very nice wedding and reception. They had the reception at a local supper club in our area but had it in their shelter outdoors along with a huge tent sent up for the day. The weather stayed nice and the food was wonderful!!

Me, Jim and my Mom; we were told that we cleaned up rather well!

This is my Mom's Mustang Convertible, she was very nice and trusted Justin to drive it after the wedding.

And, of course, I have lots more pictures and these are just pictures that we took. Haven't even seen the professional picture yet!

I know what your thinking, I bet there is another scrapbook in the works. And there just might be but not for a bit, I have to enjoy my summer alittle bit. I am thinking in couple of months this will be a great project.

As always take care, thanks for checking out the pictures and our happy day!

Here is Justin with some of his Groomsmen. They look more serious than Justin does at the moment.

Wedding Day!

Well today is the wedding day, I am so glad that I am setting up this post to post automatically. I am sure that I would not have time otherwise. This is the card that my husband and I will give Justin and Kristy. Again it uses the swirl that they also used on the wedding invite, and the colors are the same as what they used.
I am sure that it will be a great day, hopefully the weather will cooperate and that would be a nice touch and hopefully my water proof mascara holds up and I don't look too foolish!!
I will share pictures of the wedding sometime next week. As always, take care!

Shower and Bachelor Party

Here are the last two pages of the scrapbook. I did one page just of Justin and his friends as they got ready to do the bachelor party; they went clay pigeon target shooting and then back to meet up with the girls for the party that night.

This page is all Justin, hanging out with his friends and smiling!

This page is for Kristy is the shower; while the guys were playing, we had the wedding shower for Kristy. After the shower, the guys were back for a cookout and then out for some drinks.
I wish I would have gotten some pictures of Kristy with her friends, that would have probably made a better page but apparently I wasn't thinking that day!!
I have one card to share but I won't share it until the 19th of June, which is the wedding day!
So as always, take care.

The Shower

As the scrapbook is almost finished and the wedding is now only five days away, things are getting busy around our house so I will get these pages posted and then I am afraid that the blog will be on automatic pilot for a week or so!
Didn't this page turn out so cute, even though it snowed on the shower day it still was a great time. Looks like we are having another weird summer as its the middle of June now and instead of wearing shorts I have jeans and a sweatshirt on!
I like how everything came together for this page. I used the same stamp set that Kristy picked out for the wedding invitations. The black embossed swirl is just such a pretty accent in my opinion. I just got the die that cuts the hearts and the coral swirl in the upper right corner and had to give that a try also.
I have to get two more posts ready so as always, take care!

Wedding Card (but not the one you think!)

This past weekend, we were invited to my husband's nephews wedding and here is the card that I came up with. Its not the one that I will be making for Justin and Kristy, just thought that I should throw that out there!!

This card used my the Polka Dot Embossing Folder and Top Hat Die; the colors are Gable Green and Pixie Pink. I used some Dazzeling Diamonds glitter to set off the tulip.

Also the ribbon that is on the card is the recycled ribbon that I took off of the invite! I am always doing that kind of stuff!!

As always, take care.

Our Yacht

On our last night in Florida, my mom and dad treated us to a ride aboard this beautiful yacht (which we found out had been built in Wisconsin!). We toured the Gulf coast and watched the sunset.
It was a perfect way to end our vacation and get back to reality. We seen some dolphins (which are almost impossible to get a picture of) and some pelicans.
Justin and Kristy had a great vacation in Florida. Stay tuned for the next adventure. The wedding shower, now that was alittle interesting and fun!!
As always take care, thanks for visiting.

Destination Paradise!

When I started making this scrapbook page, that is exactly what I was thinking....Paradise!! The beaches in southern Florida are so pretty and even though we didn't have the warmest weather, we still had fun looking for shells, enjoying a walk on the beach and the sunsets! I don't think a sunset could be any prettier!
We have great sunsets in Wisconsin, and probably anyone can say that no matter where they live, but I really do like the Florida sunsets.
Well I am almost done with the kids scrapbook, I just have one more Florida page; then I will do two pages of the wedding shower and then thats it!! The book is almost full and the wedding is almost here. It seems just a year ago and we were just starting the plans and its now less than two weeks away. I have been asked to brink the scrapbook to the wedding reception, we will have a table with a scrapbook of Kristy's childhood and one of Justin's and this scrapbook in the middle. And before you ask, yes there will be a Volume Two of Justin & Kristy's Memories; it will start with the wedding.

For the Love of Raz!

Ever so often I start a scrapbook with just the pictures and then all of a sudden, the page just comes together and finishes itself!! That was this page. Justin and Kristi's dog or should I say daughter, Raz, she is such a nice dog and quite the ham for the camera. Of course, I don't think that there isn't anything that Raz wouldn't do for Justin and Kristy. They adopted her from the Humane Society and I think that she adopted them also. But it makes you wonder, who adopted who first?!
I got some chipboard decorations that my dad that he found at a garage (I couldn't believe it either) and finished this page in ten minutes time! I found it quite fitting to use Stampin' Up!'s Rich Razzelberry cardstock for my background, stamped some butterflies and lady bugs, added the chipboard butterflies and wha-la!
I hope you like my scrapbook page, I hope to have more pages to post very soon. As always, take care.

Florida Vacation 2010 - Naples Country Club!

No vacation would be complete without stopping for a cold one at my folks favorite spot, the Naples Country Club. Its not located on a gold course or anything and I really don't know why its called the Country Club but what I do know is that they have nice cold Coors Light. When you are on vacation, it just is something that you HAVE to do!!
All kidding aside, this page shows Justin getting ready to play the Lobster Tank to see if he can catch a real live lobster. And he did! The Country Club will then cook it for you and serve it up with fries, cole slaw and drawn butter. It was really pretty good.
The bottom picture is a group shot, well kinda, notice no picture of me! What else is new, since I am the one always taking the pictures you don't get to see many of me. But thats the way it goes. I have more pages to make and I will share them with you as soon as I can.
As always, take care!

Florida Vacation 2010 - Babcock Ranch

We took a tour of a real working ranch, the Babcock Ranch. It was a great day to enjoy the eco-tour and see how Florida looks besides just beaches and cement! We saw so many native animals, it was quite a learning experience.
They do a great job of explaining everything, they even supply a young alligator so that you can see one up close. Notice how Justin thought it was okay to look but not touch!!
The swamps were really quite full so we didn't see alot of alligators but it was a beautiful day to enjoy nature in southern Florida.
The next page that I have to share with you is what you would call a "r & r" page; come back and visit me again so that you can see what I mean. As always, take care.

Florida Vacation 2010

Its back to scrapbooking!
Not that I mind, but I am under a deadline to finish the kids scrapbook before the big day! The days to the wedding on June 19, are going by entirely too fast! On the bright side, I am almost done with the "pre-wedding" photos and the book is almost full!
I found out this past weekend, that the "kids" want to show case the scrapbook at the wedding reception for everyone to see! I was so honored, I stamp cards and scrapbook pages because its something for me to do and I enjoy it. To have it on display is really quite an honor for me!
In March, Justin, Kristi and myself flew to Naples, Florida to visit my mom and dad who were vacationing there. There is nothing as pretty as a Florida sunset. Naples is located on the gulf and the house is only a few blocks away. We spent some time on the beach looking for shells and enjoying the beautiful sunset.
I hope that you enjoyed my scrapbook pages, I have some more page that I will post in the next few days. Take care!!

My Spring Flowers

I finally took my camera outside with me and took some pictures of my flowers that are blooming. The first picture is my peony bush, it is one of the early ones!
The yard is looking pretty good, which is good thing as Jim and I decided to host the rehersal dinner here at the house for Justin and Kristy. They loved the idea, now its just a matter of getting everything all spruced up for about 35 people!!
My Bleeding Heart bush, its about 4 years old and this year it had the most flowers! I just love it!
We started cleaning the garage this past Saturday, the last time it was really cleaned was seven years ago for Justin's graduation. So far we got two garbage cans full of "things Jim couldn't part with" and we are only half done!

Some Violas that re-seeded themselves from last year. They really did very well. Maybe it was our mild winter that helped.

I have my menu all picked out and am gathering my recipes so that I can start watching "sales" to get alittle better bargain!

Here is my thought for today:
Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile..

As always, thanks for stopping by!
