Baby Bears Scrapbook Pages

Here is my scrapbook page layout for the adventure that Kristy had with her friend, Kendell. They got to go with a bear biologist when he visited a bear den in 2007. They got to hold the baby bears and keep them warm while the biologist weighed and measured the mom. What an adventure!!
Even though Justin wasn't along for this adventure, I just couldn't resist making a scrapbook layout for their Memories Scrapbook.
My Thought for today:
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy that makes happiness.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you are enjoying my scrapbook pages.

Your a Rock Star!!

I didn't post anything yesterday, I figured that no one would have time to even check their email much less check blogs. So I hope that you had a blessed and wonderful Christmas. I want to show you another scrapbook page that I made.
These pictures were taken after we had our annual Bow Party in 2008, we all went down to the "corner" and sang. Justin and Kristy really got into it. The cardstock that I used is Stampin' Up! Night of Navy, I embossed the Rock Star in silver and used dimensions to make it stand out. I also used the Classic Stars wheel for the background but I am sure that you can't see it very good in the pictures.
I thank you for stopping in and here is my thought for the day:
A friend is;
A push when you're stopped.
A word whe you're lonely.
A guide when you're searching.
A smile when you're sad.
A song when you're glad.

Fishing with Friends

Here is another scrapbook page that I made for my son and his girlfriend. This one was taken at a nearby lake that we like to go to. See the lovely Crappies in the cooler? I thought that really added to the page, along with sponging Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Up! ink around the year and title. The Stampin' Up! wheel that I used for the background is called Whimsy, along with some matching designer paper the page came together rather quickly.
I hope that you are enjoying my scrapbook, I like making them I figure it keeps me out of mischief!!

My thought for today:
For yesterday is but a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision.
But today well lived makes yesterday a dream of tomorrow a vision of hope.
Have a great day, its almost Christmas!!!

Camping with Justin & Kristy & Raz

Another two page layout, which turned out just great. My husband and myself went camping with Justin, Kristy and Raz. We went to Eau Claire Lake in Wisconsin, Kristy found this really nice private campground. It had all the comforts but yet was rustic enough to make the weekend just great! We did alittle fishing, sat around the campfire at night and just plain relaxed. We used our pop-up camper, even had to turn the furnace on one night. We had an unusual cold summer this year, but thats okay we still had a great time.
The little camp store had ice cream so Raz even got a treat!
I thank you for stopping in, we are almost to the big holiday and as I make my scrapbook pages I enjoy re-living the moment and remember how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family.
My thought for today:
Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die,
Life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly.

Bow Hunting with Justin & Kristy!

I figured that sometimes I have more pictures that are too good to not be scraped, so I came up with a 2 page scrapbook page. That way when you get to this page, you will have one page on the left and one on the right.

These two pages are from this year's bow hunting. Both Justin and Kristy went out on the first night of bow hunting. It was really warm and the mosquitos were kind of bad also. But these two hunters prevailed and both came out with a nice buck each.

Justin's buck was a nine pointer with a drop tine and Kristy shot her first buck with a bow. Double excitement for both!
Hey, thanks for stopping, I had a great time creating these two pages.
My thought for today:
There can be no rainbow without a cloud and a storm.

Justin & Kristy 2009 Erickson Wedding Page

So here we have another scrapbook page for Justin & Kristy's Memories Scrapbook. Justin was an usher in a wedding this past August. Justin and Tyler Erickson have been friends; I didn't have any pictures of the wedding couple but did have a picture of Justin and Tony, who is Tyler's brother. These guys have been friends since they were in grade school and it is so great to see that they are all still friends. They usually don't look this good but I would have to say, "they clean up nicely!!"

It was a great time spent with each other and friends.

My thought for the day: Friendship shares the spirit of the sky and the splendor of a new day.

Justin & Kristys 2008 Christmas Picture

Here is the first page that I have done for Justin and Kristy's scrapbook. It was their 2008 Christmas card. The card also has their dog, Raz on it with them. She is so black that they should have wore light colored sweatshirts. They said that they would wear something different for this year.
I used the Stampin' Up Decorative Ornaments stamp set to make the ornaments, embossed them in gold and then punched them out with my new ornament punch. I don't know why but I really like paper punches! I then completed the look by using a black marker and drew lines to represent the ornament strings.
I used every part of the picture card that they sent, including their names and the "Merry Christmas".
Next page will be coming up with a fishing scene for the Spring of 2009.
Till next time, take care and have a great day!

New Scrapbook Project - Justin & Kristy

So here is my next scrapbook project. I am making a scrapbook for Justin, our son and his girlfriend. I have only started it so all I have so far is the front cover and one page. The biggest problem that I am running into is find enough pictures of the two of them. Its hard to believe that they don't take alot of pictures of each other.
What I like to use for my scrapbooks is 3-ring binders that I buy at Walmart. They have the plastic sleeve that you can insert whatever you want for the cover, side and back cover. The reason I like this is that I can personalize it the way that I want it. Just makes it alittle more special.
The picture that I used is the two of them from last winter when they went ice fishing up by Phillips, WI. Remember the winter of 2008, remember how cold it was?! I sure hope that we don't have that cold of a winter this year but I think that I am going to be mistaken!!
Thanks for stopping in, and have a great day!

Christmas is Almost Here!

Why is it every year I take a picture of our Christmas tree and every year it looks the same?! For some reason I just can't take good Christmas tree pictures. I have tried taking them with the just the lights on the tree lit and no other lights on in the house. With the flash and without the flash, never works.
But after my long day of baking cookies, 4 different kinds to be exact and after conning my husband to help me decorate the cut out cookies I looked at the calendar and gasped, its getting pretty close to Christmas and I still have a few things to do. But I have the cookies made, just have to make the dear hubby his poppy seed bread.
One of the kinds of cookies that I made today were called Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies, they aren't too much work and the best part is that you frost them BEFORE you bake them, so thats pretty cool. Anyway here is the recipe:

Chocolate Covered Cherry Cookies
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1/4 t. salt
1/4 t. baking powder
1/4 t. baking soda
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 t. vanilla
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
Frosting:
6 oz. chocolate chips
1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk
Marsharino cherries
Cream butter & sugar, add eggs, and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients. Shape into 1 inch balls. Press down center. For the frosting: In a microwavable bowl with cover, melt chocolate chips with sw. condensed milk, add 4 t. cherry juice. Stir chips, milk and juice until its well mixed. Press a cherry into the top of each cookie and frost tops of cookies before baking. Bake at 350 degrees about 10 minutes.
These are very moist cookies and is one that is always requested at house. Enjoy!!

Mommy-Mom-Mother

After reading this, I thought, "yep guess this applies to me, as I can see it in my son!"

MOTHERS
Real Mothers don't eat quiche; They don't have time to make it.
Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils Are probably in the sandbox.
Real Mothers often have sticky floors, Filthy ovens and happy kids.
Real Mothers know that dried play dough Doesn't come out of carpets.
Real Mothers don't want to know what The vacuum just sucked up.
Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'
And get their answer when a littleVoice says, 'Because I love you best.'
Real Mothers know that a child's growth Is not measured by height or years or grade...
It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...
The Images of Mother
4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, Because that is the doorway to her heart, The place where love resides..
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she
Shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Dasher Christmas Card

Here is a Christmas card that I just finished making tonight. It uses all Stampin' Up! materials. The stamp is a single stamp called "Dasher", cardstock used was Ruby Red and Soft Suede, Silver Embossing, Dazzeling Diamonds made the snow. The top part of the card uses Stampin' Up! Embossing Folder. The card really came together pretty good, now I just have to make a few more.
I pretty much have my Christmas cards done but I find another card that I want to CASE and I can't help myself. Of all the cards that I make I just have a thing about Christmas cards. Maybe because of all of the great comments that I receive from the recipients of the cards.
Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!

Delightful Decoration Christmas Card

Here is the third card that I completed this past weekend. The stamp set is Stampin' Up! Delightful Decorations, Cardstock is Rose Red and Silver, along with some Designer Series paper. I embossed the ornament and "Merry Christmas" in silver and added silver cord to complete my card.
This card started out totally different than what I had in mind, but it works and I like it.
And lastly, here is my thought for today:
Love one another, but make not a bond of love. Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.

Lovely as a Tree Christmas Card

I just love this card, unforunately you can really see the colors as well as in real life, but let me tell you it turned out to be just gorgerous!!
The Stampin' Up! stamp set that I used is the classic Lovely as a Tree and Short and Sweet. Cardstock is Night of Navy, Whisper White and Silver. I embossed the trees with Irradescent Ice Embossing Powder, added a Snowflake and Brad to complete my card.
Thanks for stopping in and viewing my card, I hope you like it. My thought for today:

Christmas Box

Here is alittle box that we made at the stamp camp that I went to a week or so ago. Its so cute, I think it would hold a gift card just fine. It uses Stampin' Up Real Red and Old Olive cardstock and Designer Series paper. You could also put some Christmas chocolates in it and just have it on your desk at work. I think thats what I am going to do with it. Its too pretty not to share!

Christmas Pouch

What I want to show you today is a Christmas Pouch. I think its just perfect for a small Christmas gift, its about 6 inches tall and its really so easy to make. I used Stampin' Up! Designer paper, a scalloped trip on the bottom, a ribbon on top and wha-laa! You have a cute little pouch.
You could even put some candy in it, no gift wrapping, just put some confetti paper in it and your done. If you like the pouch, just email me at budy98@yahoo.com if your interested in purchasing some of these. I could email you the directions or pre-cut/pre-assemble them for you.
Thanks for stopping in, isn't that pouch adorable?!!

October Secret Stamper Card #2

Here is the second Secret Stamper card that I got. It is a very pretty birthday card that I definitely can use! That seems to be one card that I never have enough of!
It uses the Stampin' Up! stampset Party Hearty, the colors are Bravo Burgandy and Pale Pink. I have never tried to make a tri-folded card like, I just might have to take it apart and give it a try.
Nah!! Its too pretty to do that to. Take care and thanks.

October Secret Stamper Card #1

Here is the card that I got from my Secret Stamper for October. What a cute Halloween card it is, unforunately I didn't receive it until after Halloween but I have this great box that I store my cards in; so next year it will be perfect!! Its using the Stampin' Up! cardstock Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie.
I will post the second card that I got on tomorow's blog. Not alot to say today, all of our leaves are on the ground now and we just heard that for the month of October we got more rain than we did all summer! About five inches! But now we are going to have nice warm weather and no rain for at least a week. Thats fine with me! I really felt disappointed that we didn't even get to enjoy our fall with all of the rain that we got.
Until tomorrow, take care!

Sailor Lake Vacation 2006

I am officially finished with Justin's Scrapbook, for one very good reason....the book is now full. I had titled this scrapbook, "Justin's Adventures - Volumne 1" And yes, I know I have alot more pictures that I can easily make a Volumne 2. But I have to take a break from scrapbooking for a bit and start on my Christmas cards.
This page was a family camping trip in 2006, we went to the Price County Campground which is on Sailor Lake. The campsites here are wonderful, so clean and very well maintained. The restrooms and showers were so clean. We really enjoyed our extra long weekend. In fact, I was just mentioning it to the husband that we really need to try and camp here again next summer on a extra long weekend.
I used the Stampin' Up stamp sets Happy Camper and Lovely as a Tree, the cardstock is Bordering Blue and Creamy Carmel. It took me abit to get the page together but once I did I really think it turned out very nice. I especially like the sillouette picture of Justin at the top of the page.

Puppies!!

One thing I have found since I started scrapbooking is that when you start looking at some older pictures, you remember the moment and then you....smile!
This page is of our puppies from three years ago. They were soooo cute, you couldn't help but fall with each and every one. They all went to good homes and we know that a couple grew up into being good coon hounds, a bear hound and even a house dog.
The ingredients for this page is Stampin' Up! Dusty Durango and DS Paper and Soft Suede. Ink is Soft Suede, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. The stamp sets are Lovely as a Tree, So Very and Serene Nature.
All I can say about this page, "Aren't they cute?!"

Joy Ornament Christmas Card

This card uses the new Stampin' Up ornament punch and the co-ordinating ornamate stamp set called Delightful Decorations. I just knew when I seen this set that, even though, I told myself, "nope no more Christmas stamp sets." Its one that I am going to order for sure. The card also uses the Stampin' Up! Dies and Folder and is called Embossits Merry. All of these the stamps, die and punch can be found in the Holiday Mini catolog that is currently on sale now!!
To me this card is definitely a WOW!! card; its different but still traditional. I just LOVE it!! The scallops on this card is what makes it a wow! Curious as to how it was done? Well just email me and I will fill you in on all of the details. This card is also available as a card kit. If your interested, read further down in my blog for the prices and what you will get. I can guarantee you that you will not be disappointed.
One more card to show you but that will be in tomorrow's post, so stay tuned!

Holly Jolly Christmas Card

What a traditional card this one is, I just love the soft colors, along with the beautiful snowflakes. I don't want to think about snow just yet but I know its time and its also time to start thinking about making those keepsake Christmas cards that your family and friends will ohh and ahh over.
This card uses the Stampin' Up! Serene Snowflakes that can be found the Holiday Mini Catolog. I love the colors used in this card, they are Perfect Plum, Bashful Blue and Rich Razzelberry. Its just great how these colors just all come together to make a beautiful card.
And yes this card is also available in a card kit, remember you get get 12 pre-cut, pre-stamped cards with decorated envelopes that all you have to do is assemble. Easy as pie, trust me they really are and I volunteer to do all of the cutting for you.
This is the last of the cards that we made at the stamp camp, I have a special Christmas pouch to show you and a cute gift box. But they are for later.

White Ornament Season's Greeting Card

Here is the second card that we made. What a neat and simple card this is. It uses Stampin' Up! newest ornament punch. The colors of the cardstock is Whisper White and Ballet Blue.
This card is so elegant in person, the scan really doesn't do it justice at all and I didn't have time to take a digital photo of it. So I hope you will forgive me for that. But trust me this card is GORGEOUS!!
This card is also available in a card kit for your Christmas card giving. Remember you can get this card kit for $20 which will have everything you need to make 12 cards. Did I mention in my last post that it also includes a decorated envelope for each card? No I didn't think I did, but it does!!

Penguin Christmas!

I just got home after attending my upline, Kelly's Stamp Camp at the Weston Townhall. I always help host it and always, always have a great time in the process.
Here was the first card that we made, isn't he adorable?!
This penguin was made by using the SissixTop Note Die, running Stampin' Up! Whisper White through, punching eyes, beak and feet using the different Stampin' Up! punches that we have. Tie the red dotted ribbon, which to me looks just like a scarf and wha-la!! We have a cute penguin sending Holiday Greetings your way.
How easy is that?! A perfect freindly Christmas card all ready to send.
I have more cards to share with you so keep an eye on my blog in the days to come. Also, if you ever see a card that you like and would like to use for your own Christmas cards, I offer card kits.
The kit includes all of the consumable supplies you will need to create 12 cards. In addition, you'll receive detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to complete the card design. Each kit comes pre-stamped, all you do is assemble!
This is such a neat card, I am sure that you'll will be very happy with the results and the satisfaction of making a special Christmas card. These cards will make you feel good and show that special someone how much you care. My card kits are affordable, only $20 for everything that you need to make your very own hand-made cards.

Relax!

Relax is the name of this scrapbook page and I think that I have nailed it!! This is probably Justin's favorite pastime, fishing!!
This page is from 2006 when we went camping as a family to Solberg Lake in Price County. The weather was alittle cool, the fishing was not the greatest but we still had alot of fun.
The stamp set that I used for this page is Stampin' Up! On the Fly, Cardstock is Ballet Blue, More Mustard and Kraft. What do you think of the fishing lure that I stole from my husband's tackle box for the embellishment? I told him that when he starts fishing more I could always give it back, NOT!!

Tucker

Here is our other beagle, Tucker. Tucker is the same age as Maggie, seven years, but instead of your traditional tri-colored beagle, Tucker is

considered a blue beagle. I never thought I would ever stray away from the traditional beagle until Justin brought Tucker home one night about six years ago. You see Tucker was owned by another so-called person but he was kept in a kennel all of the time, with little to no shelter and was only fed when this person thought of it. So Justin, being the true dog lover and wonderful person that he is, told this guy, "If you are not going to take care of this dog then I am taking him home with me!!" And the guy just said, "Go ahead."

What is really something is that Justin never even asked, he just scooped up the little guy and brought him home. First we fed him and unforunately for us, it didn't agree with him; probably because he hadn't eaten in awhile. So we fed him little meals, Justin gave him a bath and the next day we took him to the vet for a check up.

And the rest is history!! Tucker has been part of the family ever since, he is the most adorable, carefree and fun beagle that I have ever had. A couple of years after Justin brought Tucker home, he decided that it was time that he wanted to move into his own place. Justin's dad and I said, "Thats fine, but Tucker stays here!"

We always say that Tucker's personality is so totally different from Maggie. Maggie is very serious and Tucker has the "I am just here for the party" attitude.

He is truly our little friend and our entertainment!

Maggie

Here is the page for Justin's scrapbook featuring one of our beagles, Maggie. We got her seven years ago. She has made herself the little Princess of the household!
The colors for this page is Stampin' Up! Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Ballet Blue. I didn't think that I would like the color combination, but tried it anyway. I was happy with the results.
Thanks for stopping, and keep smiling! People will wonder what you've been up to!

Patch

Patch was probably Justin's favorite horse. He was a Quarter

Horse Paint when my dad bought him for me. He was a retired horse from a guest ranch, for that reason just about anyone could ride him. He would do anything for you. I like to think that he had a soft spot for me and Justin, as we were usually the only ones that could catch him. He could be a stinker, but usually he was just Patch, a real nice horse.

The other day, Justin told me that someday he is going to own another Quarter Horse Paint just like Patch.

Stayed tuned for more scrapbook pages, I have a bunch of ideas for pages; and will post them as I get them finished. Take care, stamp and create!

Justin's Adventures

Adventures, I think I should have named my son Justin Adventure! As I continue to make his scrapbook pages, I sometimes smile, sometimes laugh and then sometimes just shake my head!! He definitely was a busy kid!
I have also found that when you are scrapbooking, you find things that you have been hording for just the right page, scraps of ribbon that work just right, a stray button, or smal scraps of cardstock. I am finding that the resources that I have in my stamping room is endless. I am also finding a way to use those little pieces of cardstock that I need to have.
Maybe thats why they call scrap - booking!!
Have a great day and thanks, as always for stopping in.

Justin's School Days

Don't you just love finding pictures of your children when they were young, innocent and willing to pose for the camera?! I just love this "first day of school" picture, Justin was only six years old and I could still get him to dress up in outfits that I picked for him. And as you know, just a year or so later I couldn't do that anymore. Although he would oblige if it were for something special. Here he is with our first beagle, "Magnum". Not quite sure how I got them both to stand still so long.
I hope you like my scrapbook page and layout, feel free to CASE it, and let me know if you do so that I can check out your version of it!

Justin's First Bear

Moving along in Justin's Scrapbook, we come to the bear hunting section.

Justin was seventeen years old when he drew his first bear tag, the year would have been 2000. He was, unbelievably excited to have finally drawn a bear tag in Wisconsin. On the last weekend of season, we were hunting in northern Wisconsin with friends. The hounds were able to get this lovely bear started and treed.

Of course, I was there with my camera to capture the moment!
The second page is back at camp; you can tell how happy Justin was and to not only have gotten a really nice bear but to also have had three of our Redbone Hounds in on the chase.
The scrapbook page turned out great, and I am really enjoying this. I have moved my stamping from my stamping room to the living room. I know nothing is convenient from the living room and I am continually going back and forth to get something. So you ask why am I doing this, I really don't know but I am stamping and scrapping, so I guess if it works why not?!

Justin's Clem & Me

As I continue to work on my son, Justin's, scrapbook it has been a great trip down memory lane. Since Justin was an only child it was pretty easy to always have a camera nearby. Justin is so much like his dad, he got into hunting and fishing quite easily and has enjoyed every minute. Which is pretty easy to tell from his ever ready smile!
This scrapbook page is in dedication to his first Redbone Coonhound, Clem. Justin got Clem when he was just 14 years old. He didn't have a drivers license so he improvised. He built a dog box for Clem and another dog, Rusty; equipped it with lights and off they went to coon hunt in the neighborhood using our three wheeler. Yep thats right a Honda Three Wheeler, the year was 1999 and we didn't own a four wheeler yet. He couldn't go far, as the three wheeler could not be taken out on the highway. We live ten miles from the nearest town and on a dirt road. It didn't matter to Justin, he had so much fun, I doubt he even noticed.
Thanks for stopping in, let me know what you think.

Mud On the Tires!!

Brad Paisley's "Mud on the Tires" inspired me to come up with this page. That and I have been going through some Stampin' Up! Stampin' Success magazines for inspiration.
Well on one of the scrapbook pages it said this: Don't let your kid see you taking his toy truck--he'll never believe you want it to stamp with! Just ink up those wheels and roll the truck over your card stock. Keep going until the wheels are clean.
I read that and thought, I can do that and I have just the pictures to use!!
I used Stampin' Up! Handsome Hunter, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron cardstock, the ink was Close to Cocoa. I happen to have the Stampin' Up retired Well Worn Alphabet set, which I just knew would make a great muddy looking MUD! The rest of the letters I just used my computer to create. I got alot of use out of my Stampin' Up! punches too, as you can see. I just love how this page turned out!

Justin's Devil's Lake Scrap Page 2

In 2004 we went on a family vacation with our close friends, the Flynns. We went to Devil's Lake, South Dakota and spent a week fishing and camping and relaxing. It was a wonderful vacation; the weather was nice most of the time, the company was great and the vacation was relaxing. We really enjoyed ourselves.
I was so surprized at how fast this page came together. I used the Stampin' Up Enjoy stamp set, Cardstock is Really Rust with Bashful Blue.
The next page that I am already planning has alot to do with mud, tires and more Justin fun! Stay tuned.

Justin's Devil's Lake Scrap Page

Here is my completed scrapbook page for my son, Justin's scrapbook. I started a scrapbook for Justin a few years ago and its almost full!! I named his scrapbook, "Justin's Adventures, Volume I" Looks like I must just have to start a volume 2!
I want to finish up his book so that I can start a new book for just pages of him and his girlfriend, Kristy. I have a lot of ideas for pages and can't wait to get started, but I am holding back until I can finish this book! I still have my own scrapbook that isn't finished yet. I figure I should only have 2 projects going at once!
Take care, thanks for stopping!

Secret Stamper Cards for September #1

Here is one of my Secret Stamper Cards that I received the end of September. It is using Stampin' Up! stamps and cardstock. Both are retired but who cares, its still great colors and stamping. I like how this card was made using the big Star punch and the small star punch. It really makes this card special.

I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did. Tune in tomorrow, I will show you the other card that I received.

Friend to Friend Birthday Card

I created this brithday card for a friend of mine, we use to work together but she retired a few years ago and its funny how a person tries to stay in touch but don't. I hope that this card will brighten her day.
I decided to scan the card so that you can see the cute Cuttlebug background. I used the Stampin' Up! stamp set Tart and Tangy. Cardstock is Orchid Opulance, Very Vanilla, Brocade Blue and Glorious Green. My new punch with "friend to friend" stamped in Chocolate Chip.
I am really enjoying my stamping again and am getting back into it. Hopefully you will enjoy my blog as much as I.

Birthday Bookmark

I found this lovely card on the Splitcoast Stamping website and just love it, with a few alterations, I have the perfect birthday card. And when you open the card, you have a bookmark! I found the instructions and have been looking for a reason to make a birthday card so that I could give it a try!
For the front of the card, I used Stampin' Up! Mambo Mambo, Bermuda Bay, and Barely Bananna Cardstock. Ink was Stampin' Up! Regal Rose and Bermuda Bay. A crystal brad for the center of the card, I ran the Mambo Mambo cardstock through my Cuttlebug using the Happy Birthday folder.
The bookmark was so easy, all you have to do is take a 4x4 or 5x5 piece of cardstock. Fold it in half horizonatally and then fold it in half vertically. Cut one of the squares out, you will have a "L" shaped cardstock of 3 squares. Fold each square towards the center, adhere with adhesive and decorate. I attached a ribbon with a crystal brad at the end for alittle weight.
So easy, but a really nice bookmark. Now I have to make some more and definitely make one for myself. I read alot and the bookmark that I have is an old and decriptive looking half a matchbook cover. How bad is that?!
Hope you enjoyed my card, let me know what you think. I would love to hear from you.

Hollywood

Here is my scrapbook page that I just made, well really made about two weeks ago but haven't had the time to blog it!
I spelt out "Hollywood" and used pictures of me taken when I visited Universal Studios with my sister a few years ago. I am very behind on my scrapbook pages and am trying to do a few now and then. I think I better pick up the pace if I ever want to get caught up!
The cardstock that I used is Stampin' Up! retired Cool Caribean. Then I used silver glitter glue to make the swirls.
I thought it was pretty cute, one more page to add to the book. I was looking at my scrapbook tonight and was thinking I am going to have to get another book pretty soon, this one is getting filled up pretty fast!
Have a great day, enjoy the weather wherever you happen to be.

Happy Together

For some reason Embossed Images on Very Vanilla cardstock really don't turn out all that great.
Maybe I should have just scanned these cards, but anyway.
These are the cards that I made in different shades for a few weddings that we have this fall.
It uses the Happy Everything Stampin' Up! stamp set. Sissix Top Note which I also embosed using the Cuttlebug Leafy Branch. The middle section was embossed using the Cuttlebug Fancy Corners.
Copper brads finishes the card. The inside sentiment says:
"Congratulations"
Welcome to the Wedded Bliss Club!
I thought that was appropriate as my husband and I have been married for 29 years and still counting!
Thanks again for stopping in, tomorrow I have a scrapbook page to show you.

Fun Cards I Have Received!!

Now that I am finally, yes finally done canning vegetables from our garden and canning applesauce from our wonderful McIntosh apple tree, its time to do alittle stamping. I also am trying to organize my stamping room. Which at this time of year is looking alittle crowded. Not only do I have my stamping desk, portable television, my treadmill; but now I also have my hunting tote and bow case taking up space. For two people living in a three bedroom house, we certainly seem to have enough stuff!

Anyway, here are two cards that I received from my Secret Stamper. In August I joined a Secret Stamper group, hosted by my friend, Kelly. Our names were put into a hat and Kelly signed us up to a different person and we became their Secret Stamper. Every month we receive two cards from our Secret Stamper and I send two cards to my Secret Stamper person. Its really alot of fun getting cards in the mail and trying to create two new cards every month. Which for me because of everything I am doing, was quite the challenge.

So here are the two cards that I received in August.

This card features the new stamp set from Stampin' Up! 2009 catolog. Its called Autumn Days.

The card stock is Really Rust, Close to Cocoa and the new color for this Soft Suede.

The Very Vanilla piece was cut out using the Sissix Top Note Die.

Its really a very pretty card in peson.

The second card is also featuring a stamp set from Stampin' Up! for the love of me I couldn't figure out the name of the stamp set from the catolog. But its still a great card, love the colors.

I made some cards tonight for a couple of weddings that we have coming up and I will post them in tomorrows post. So until then, take care and thanks for stopping by.
